MMORPGs are social games. You don't want to finish the game, as then what else are you meant to do with the game you are still paying for?
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

Good grief, even i know that there are folks whove been playing Everquest for years, etc. My reference to FINISHING War in the Pacific was merely an attempt to explain why $95 would be more worthwhile to THAT particular game than to other conventional games (btw, we need a better word for PC games that arent MMORPGs)

Look, I understand that there are folks who game no more than I do, but who choose to put all their gaming time over a year or more into one particular MMORPG, and that for them the game may well be a bargain. While it sounds even geekier, and an odder use of time, than some forms of gaming i prefer, what the hey, it takes all types - different strokes, a thousand flowers, you get the picture.

I've heard good things about World of Warcraft; but the subscription turned me off. How much is it?

I thought the Collectors Edition was 80$? And it comes with a free month subscription, so it's really 15$ less than the price.

I thought it was around that price too, but EB is selling it for $150. Maybe they hiked the price when they realized how many raving fanboys there are.

Or the first month is just a free trial period. Depends on how you want to look at it.

I thought that only the CE had a free month, I guess I was wrong.
