  • I voted for Sandman the last two times. There's no point changing my vote now.

    • I'm convinced... it's Sandman.

In fact, Jrabbit's data had me mostly convinced as of last round; unfortunately for him, he only brought forth his findings after I voted. Now, if this meet had been in Florida, I could have voted several more times to fix the situation...

        • Ah, my dear Adagio, but there now some useful clues.

          There are two possible scenarios.

First, one of the Mafia (the Spam can killer) is already dead.
hence the fruit motif for the past three kills.

or two, the first Mafia has changed mode of killing.

I think the first Mafia is dead.

The second Mafia has benefited enormously from the attention focused on JRabbit, Sandman, Sparrow and spammers generally. And that also was part if not all of the motivation.

Now, Snowflake was killed because she was getting too close to identifying the killer. But it was also useful to kill her to divert blame elsewhere: ie towards a low spam candidate such as Sandman (I don't think it is you)

          So where are we.

          Gentlemen:

Snowflake's (a moments silence, if you please) last analysis
          was, in my opinion, correct.

There is a fruit motif and there is a Civ 2 motif and an anti Spam motif.

The killer thought he could disguise the reason for Snowflake's death, as a strong anti spam motive.

          So who fits the bill.

In my view there are two possible candidates but I have to admit I don't go into CivII forums.

          Ben Kenobi or Jon Miller.

First, Ben Kenobi. Ben Kenobi plays in the Civ II forums and has a particular interest in City construction. Also he sports the Canadian Flag, which country has a London and a York, in Ontario.

Second, Jon Miller. Also Canadian. So London and York apply. Jon Miller also plays Civ 2 multiplayer.

He also has a relatively low PPD and,

In this Meet has shown an interest in exotic fruit and the colour yellow, (which connection Dark Cloud spotted).

Paddy the Scot slipped on a Banana Skin. Jon Miller's first drink was a Banana Bomber. Then there was the yellow cocktail. Jon Miller took a Yellow Daiquiri.

          And then this.

          quote

Skanky Burns was very happy and he prepared a new round of drinks for everybody. He himself was drinking a yellow cocktail someone else prepared for him.

So Yellow is definitely a theme.

Yellow, combined with the fruit motif, and the low spam factor, points to Jon Miller.

Lastly note that in the last vote to disguise his involvement Jon sacrificed his friend, J Rabbit, by voting Snowflake.

But he now needed to kill Snowflake: those deductions were getting way too close.

So well done the late Snowflake and well done Darkcloud for your detective skills.

I urge you to vote Jon Miller.

            • Actually I have had a thread closed, once. A pity, since it was a really good one.

There's only one way for me to help reveal the mafia, and that is to... demonstrate my innocence... by way of example.... me..... Sandman!

              • Alas I may be too late.

But note, if I am killed next, it is definitely Jon Miller who is the Mafia.

                • Or someone framing Jon.

The Mafia seldom vote for themselves... a-HA! That's what you're counting on aren't you? Well your nefarious plot has been uncovered now!

Asking for an easy execution usually leads to the actual act being way more messy and painful than it would have normally been.

                          • 'Tis a pity that I am next on Sandman's list, having the next highest amount of posts

And who but Sandman would be so defensive and braggarty (in the story) when noting that he had never had any trouble with the law (IE: rah)?

Maybe he thinks he can act as Agatha Cristie's Judge in Ten Little Indians the play and judge us all since he himself has no fault?
                            -
That being said, if it 'tis not he, the Jon Miller connection represents an interesting idea, Jon hasn't posted much in this thread (I think... I know I haven't seen many posts) and that usually is a sign of guilt. And also, Jon has the sophistication of forum lore (since he seems to pop up everywhere- OT, OG, Civ II and all) and I think would actually be likely to, using his own peculiar brand of humor, actually research post counts and kill based on them.

But since the tide flows toward Sandman, and I am frustrated that he hasn't perished in these past two turns, I'm voting for Sandman

                              • There was one other thought in my deliberations. This is that everyone, past and present, at the Meet, is enjoying themselves too much, despite the death rate, and wish to live close to the edge and prolong the Meet and tension.

Nobody wants the party to end. So all want to keep the party going until only 3/5 remain - as is the 'Poly Mafia tradition.

Well I am up for that, but wearing my Sherlock hat I thought you might want my assessment on this matter at this stage.
