Youve obviously never dealt with a "1337" player like QOTM. "yes, we really NEED a new PC. Are you SURE that 2.9 ghz is enough, though? And tell me again why we shoudnt get a Mac? I think we should do some more research. Or just write it all down, I'll take a look later"

Well if you can run this game you might like a look at 'Ascendancy' sometime - the site with no-name has it. And its as interesting in many ways as Moo2, just has more flaws - still its worth a look if you like this kinda genre
Many people regard Moo1 as the best, but as i havent played this yet i can't say.

oh i forgot - all the games are gravitating to the consoles! Its an 'Industry Plan'

Those people are nuts. Of course the first game gets kudos for introducing a lot of the concepts, but the second game is just better, like with Civ.

I was thinking if I go for another TBS in a space setting im might try the Space Empires series ( i think SE4 would work?) or RFTS. How might Ascendancy compare to these, or to Moo2.

Alternatively if I get tired of the space setting I might get a fantasy setting TBS, like MoM. Or I might go back to history (I still havent played Colonization)

Or I might take a break from TBS, and try Starcraft, or an adventure game.

Or I might have my new PC by then, and play EU2.

Perpetual optimist that I am, I hope to have won "PC buying" well before i tire of Moo2, in which case my next game will be EU2, to be followed by "The Sims"

                          ouch!

LotM - SeIV gold is a decent game, it looks cool in an old fashioned kinda way(no 3D), shrapnelgames publishes it.
It is better than Ascendancy in that atleast the AI gives you a challange. Still i just love the atmosphere in Ascendancy, and it has some great idea's(be an 'Ent' in space! cool!) - and as you can get it free, its definately worth a look just to help put the space 4x's in correct context if you love that genre

still i think you need to say sorry to Dr.Spike for typeing 'EU2' and 'The Sims' in the same sentence

genuine freeware, or the unnamed canines without proper official release into the public domain?
