      Reviews suck in general. My system of reviewing involves renting and/or pirating the game then buying it if it's good.

        When I'm interested in a game, I check its average review ratio on Gamerankings. (Halo 2 as an average review ratio of 98.1% after 19 reviews. Not bad.) Its more objective, in a sense. Of course, its far from perfect.

                  I guess what I don't understand is... if this game is that big of a deal (which apparently it is, I have several friends waiting in line right now) why are you still posting here Asher? Sounds like it's more about getting the game than actually playing it.

                        The Halo 2 code was frozen about 2 months ago, so it doesn't seem that odd to me.

                        Dual wielding is ****ing awesome...

                        The in-game graphics are incredible for Xbox, especially the light blooms and reflections. The most impressive thing remains the scope. The draw distances are insane...

                        At some point in the first level you're actually in space, walking on your ship...as you're doing this, combat is going on in real-time all around you. Ships being shot down, manuevering, etc. Not to mention all of the enemies around, hiding behind obstacles for cover...

                          Multiplayer looks cool. It basically looks like they ripped off Battle.net and competition mods for Quake. Not that those are bad ideas by any means. Hopefully more games will follow with these features as I feel at the very least the competition mod options for multiplayer are needed for any game.

                            124,954 unique players have signed into Live with Halo 2 already, and the game hasn't even been out for 24 hours...and most people are still at school/work.

                                It doesn't say. Presumably some bug fixes, primarily with multiplayer I think.
