  • tes 4 approaches

new forums launched for tes 4 and apparently there is a count down going from 8, to 7, etc but no one knows why. i imagine lots of info will be released in the coming weeks(at least i hope so). so if you want to get on the hype train early and discuss the game before it's released you should visit the forums.

http://www.elderscrolls.com/splash/index_08.htm - when the dragon dies, the empire dies, eight
http://www.elderscrolls.com/splash/index_07.htm - where is the lost dragon's blood the empire's sire?, seven

    both also have this -

which i think is an o. it has been thought for years that tes 4 would be called oblivion. lots of rumors about tes 4 long ago said it would be quite different than previous tes games. oblivion is also the realm or of daedra isn't it?

http://til.gamingsource.co.uk/cosmology.shtml - more oblivion info here look at 'what is space' and below.

    well they have me interested...

    never heard of it.

ZZzzzzzzzzzzzzz.... Nothing interesting. Bump when there is real info. But the game better be open-ended.

I refuse to get hyped up about another game, ever again. I will say, however, that I look forward to the evolution of the Elder Scrolls series.

hopefully when the countdown ends(it's at 6 today) they'll release some info. i'm pretty interested because morrowind sold incredibly well(much more so than daggerfall i think) so they have a load of money which will probably let them make a much better and more complete game. they also have way less work to do, than they did with tes 3, as they likely can reuse lots of stuff since they are going to be working with an updated version of the same engine afaik. all the rumors about oblivion mentions wars, controlling battles, etc which is much different than any other tes game and could really effect gameplay dramatically. already the hints make it seem like they empire is going to collapse which hopefully means that the gameplay will be a little more involving than morrowind.

Must be a countdown till some real info is released, indeed. I love the Elder Scrolls universe, actually an interesting world and setting .

The main thing, I hope TES4 will be just as open-ended as Morrowind and even more. What was missing for me from Morrowind was an option to "join the evil side" on the main quest.

They need to fix the character building system.

.....or just balance the game so that it plays a bit harder, that might help make you care more about your character.
After i'm level 9/10, apart from the odd quest uber monster, i feel too indestructable.

They seemed to swing from one extreme with Daggerfall, where you were pretty feeble for a long time(unless you cheated), to Morrowind where i found myself getting a bit disinterested with the danger i might be facing. And somehow just cranking up the difficulty slider so the enemies had more hit points didn't quite resolve that problem for me, although it helped a fair bit.

I'm looking forward to the next installment - i've enjoyed the TES experience very much so far, its in my all time top ten

CoT, again, Morrowind is very easy to mod, and there are tons of plugins to fix that particular problem, which I would agree is the biggest one in Morrowind. Once it's fixed, though, the game is much better!

ah yes but i'm one of the heathen that plays it on an xbox!!
And untill i get an uber pc i can only dream of all the modding goodness in most modern games

still my point is hopefully that in TES4 - they will just recognise that it wouldn't be a bad thing to make it slightly more challanging all the way through? - without needing to mod it
