    What is T&L?

My main reason for liking The Sims is the house-building part, which is supposed to be so much better in The sims 2
This space is empty... or is it?

      T&L is transform and lighting

most graphic cards have them, anything less than a GeForce 2 MX won't have T&L (if I can remember correctly).

I don't the Geforce 4 MX have it either if it's what allows the water effect in games like Morrowind ? I replaced my Geforce4 MX with a older Geforce3 Ti which seems a far better card.

Ok, so I should have no problems then... even my last card had it I suppose

gf1's have t&l too. the mx line of cards is **** as even the newest ones are worst than gf1 ddr's(which are what 3+ years older now?).

i liked the house building in the sims too but i only played the original so i got bored kinda quick. hopefully it won't be so limited.

From what it looks like, there's much more options this time... you can build windows/doors on diagonal (sp?) walls (from what I've seen on screenshots... I hope it'll stay in), and all furniture exists in different versions (by changing the color)

So what're the main differences between the sims1 and 2?

And I know it's not really an issue for most people, but can you still have same-sex relationships? I think they took it out fo the console versions -Yet I heard the original sims was the first computer game to have playable gay characters (or, bi, since that seems to be what everyone in the sims is).

Loved the original though, even thoguh it does get boring after a couple of weeks. I used an editor to decrease the number of family friens you need for a career - it's too hard to have 8 family friends at once dammit!

I'm wondering the same thing... I sure hope it's still possible to have lesbians in the game... but I'm not sure about it... if they don't include it, I hope someone mods the game to make it possible...

And about the difference between the first game and Sims 2, there's soo many things, so I'll probably forget most of them, but here's the most interesting ones:

                  - You can edit your sims to make them look exactly as you want them to, so if you want to have Schwarzenegger and Kylie Minogue in The game it should be possible...
                  - When two sims have a child, the child will enherit both the looks and behavior of both parents
                  - The house-building part is much more advanced
                  - Sims have fears and wants (for the goal-loving people)
                  - It's full 3D
                  - Sims age (and there's more 'ages')

...I could keep going, but I'll stop for now...

explaining why Sims2 will be better than The Sims

Not all true... that's what I hope will be in Sims 2, because it was in Sim 1

                            It's funnier my way.

I could change it to "explaining what key features he wants in Sims2" if you want.
