Levelling up in Folderol is pretty easy, but I know of only two ways to get from Level 1 to Level 40 on Folderol in so short a time and one involves massive cheating (DM dropping 39 levels on you) and the other involves using a massive exploit that a few of us found about a week ago (and no, I'm not telling you what it is! ).

Walk up to the dragon and poke him in the eye with a cocktail stick.

Join a party with a newly created character, then Friend-Stone-teleport to the character while he's on Captain Jack's Ship. Boom, 1000 free EXP. This can be repeated an infinite number of times.

As for possible fixes: After landing from Captain Jack's Ship, you get a plot token. If you have the plot token, talking to Jack on the ship just teleports you to the Gypsy Camp.

Or, if you want to be evil, instead of adding 1000 EXP, have Captain Jack set your EXP to 1000. Removes the exploit, and punishes cheaters.

edit: heh. Seems like Alerbic fixed it already. Anyway, my suggested method of punishment still could work.

Yeah, that's not even the exploit I was referring to. There's another one... even worse. I only know about it because I walked in on two players using it and they admitted to me what they were doing and how it's done.

It's in a rather well travelled area and If you see it being done, it should be apparent that something is a little fishy. I'm honestly surprised that a DM or Alerbic hasn't caught one of the ones doing it yet. Heck, I tested it out recently by building up a new halfling fighter character to level 7 in less than 5 minutes.

I half suspect that Alerbic or one of the builders put it in on purpose in order to level up their own characters quickly without the need of a DM or the cheat codes. On the other hand, it might just be a stupid mistake by a builder who hasn't caught their own error yet.
