It's quite funny having an INT of 8 because the "special" dialogue you get is sometimes quite inspired, but often it's just annoying, and the temptation to put another point on INT or spend tonnes of cash on an item that raises it is strong.

You'll get +2 INT from your RDD levels and be able to speak normally.

YAY!

And wear armour, you won't cast those spells anyway. You can use wands though And read scrolls While wearing Full Plate

Well I've only got half plate so far - AC of 18 I think.

I decided to take the cleric henchwoman, just for the hell of it. There was no way I was going to take the gnome - I'm somewhat prejudiced against illusionists too, just to add to my hall of shame.

I used Daelan, but I guess it depends what complements your class. The cleric woman is pretty annoying though.

Yes, I noticed that shortly after taking her, but at least she's not evil. Daelan looks very cool indeed, and would be ideal for a non-combatant character.

Its nice that you can tell her to "Heal Me!" using the quick-voice-chat though

I think the key-sequence is vwd, but I'll have to check. I know vee is "Follow!" and vwe is "Attack!"...

having an intelligence of 8 could cause you not to get a certain quest for a trial. But you can take potion of genius and get that quest.

That's how my half orc barbarian did it .

Just try pressing the three keys VWD in that order. You'll shout something like "Gimme healing now!" or "If I don't get healed I'll DIE!" and your henchmen will try and heal you (if they have the ability to do so) If they can't heal you, they'll apologise for being useless (Deekin amuses as usual)

I tend to press VWR a lot during fights, and VXE just before them

Myself and Duke are too skilled to need healing as much as you evidently do.

me too. adds flavour to the game. I like the combat taunt as well. I can't remember which one that is. VWT maybe.

VWT is the same shout as the actual taunt that uses the "Taunt" skill (one of my favorites - not many baddies have high Concentration, and it equals a +6 to Hit - oh and Paladin get it as a class skill too )

you actually use taunt? what does it do? it seems like a waste to me. Like Parry.

It compares your Taunt roll with their Concentration roll, and gives them -1 AC for each point you beat them by, up to a maximum of -6 to AC. Since fighters type opponents typically have ZERO Concentration, you tend to SPANK THEM. Spell casters take a 30% spell failure from Taunt.

Oh, and it lasts for 5 rounds and its free to use over and over. Its like a free +6 to hit. Which is HANDY.

Taunt is great. Especially usefull in PvP when you're up against a dex monkey or tin can.

The only problem is that you have to expose yourself while making the taunt... it's a good opener for that reason.

EDIT: And it's a great way to help someelse - taunt from the sidelines while he's busy hiting someone else and then join the fray.

I usually have so few skill points as a fighter type. I'd still choose discipline over this.
