I'd rather see Doomstars that require 7 bases to build but have some sort of advantage that makes the costly 7th base worth it.

Interlude: the return of Ljcvetko

Some time ago, Ljube's time on the galactic stage seemed to have come to an abrupt end, when he lost his fleet to Gamecube and his bases to Smiley.

Emperor Smiley recognized there was a greater prize than the bases though, whose incompatible technology (to begin with, their citizens operated on -tko hours) only yielded a couple of extra battleships a round. That was the grand strategist General Ljube, now appointed as the Supreme Commander of the Offtopic Army.

The 7th base allows the builder strategy to continue. It conveys no other benefit.

The Galaxy is at war, with no less than 5 seperate attacks taking place. Like Ljube in round 1, it seems it is now Smiley's and Jamski's turns to be ganged.

Geomodder's first conquest is a decisive victory, with all Smiley's bases overtaken by him. The question is, can Overlord Geomodder hold onto them this round?

Overlord Spaced attacked Jamski, only to have his lead cruiser burst into flames at a certain distance from Jamski's bases. Shield! The fleets battleships made emergency evasive action to avoid the shield, with the explosion of one not quite making it damaging another ship in the fleet. The ships set course for home in disarray.

Mere hours later, Overlord Chaunk tried the same conquest with very similar results. He lost a titan with another damaged.

Outgunned and against superior tactics, Spaced's fleet put up a brave defence which proved just enough to blunt Smiley's do-or-die attack. Smiley's desperate fleet captured one base with only a single ship damaged.
Spaced's fleet took a beating, losing 4 laser battleships and 4 torpedo battleships, the remaining battleship badly damaged.

Gamecube's fleet arrived at the former bases of Smiley, only to find that Geomodder had occupied them. Without orders to press the attack regardless, the fleet returned home.
