Ah, that would explain it. I was under the impression that monarchy was .5 gold for each army and republic was 1 gold for each army.

Just to clarify (since you could sort of mean two things by what you said) an army's price is equal to the tech level. So if you have tech level 7 and 40 armies, each new army will cost 7 gold. (rather than the next one costing 280 gold ie, 7x40)

Can you please correct my city count. I wanted to build three more cities, not up to 3. Here is the pm of my previous orders.

Send 4 caravans to darkcloud (4*7)-(4+7)= 17

buy me tech level 5 (cost??)
spend the rest on armies until the gold is gone.

<>Note: IMO I should have only bought 7 armies.

I thought that armies cost your tech level. Hence How did I get 37 armies? 37*4=148. I did not have that much gold.

actually armies are purchased after science research, so it would have cost you 37 * 5 = 185 Gold for your armies.

3b. Production: Military (armies, nukes, SDI)

Buy armies with Gold. The cost per army is your Tech Level.
