    Wutang!!

Presidential elections sound fun . And I think there should be some wild and zany parties created. Like one of the main parties should be about being nude all the time or something .

If we go with a political theme, let's give everyone the same power: once per game, they can poll the electorate and find out what the vote totals are that turn.

Ah, good idea... but I think we should have OPEN voting. Basically with modern technology, there should be a poll everyday .

I'll have to see what game we'll be playing and the rules before I decide to join fully.

Or we could have different positions in each party. The candidate himself, advisors, PR representitives, organizers, ect... that have different abilities.

If we want to keep the abilities, anyways.

I think I'll choose the parts each person plays in the campaign: but here's a proto-development rundown of the major political parties:

(Although... I might cut the Communist Party of Apolyton...)

              -
              President of Apolyton

              Political Parties

RED Font= Power that is secretly activated. Remember, you can still say "VOTE SENT" even if your character really can't vote that round.
BLUE font = Power that is revealed to all.

              The Off-Topic Party (OTF)
(Can negate all On-Topic Alliance votes ONCE)
(Can HIDE in Off-Topic ONCE per game; saving self from killer.)

The Communist Party of Apolyton (CPA)
(Can 'share' votes and request that all players votes are revealed to him/her ONCE)

              The On-Topic Alliance (OTA)
(Can negate all Off-Topic Alliance votes ONCE)
(Can HIDE in On-Topic ONCE per game; saving self from killer.)

              Lurkers United (LU)
(Can negate 2 votes for self ONCE... drifting into the shadows of the fora.)

              The Moderator's Party (MOD)
(Can demand the death of one poster ONCE)

The Society for the Improvement of Spam (SPAM)
(Can make own vote count twice ONCE)

I am against opening voting. Secret ballots is done to avoid docpiling, and it is working well.

I'm for secret ballots and (at least for next game) no powers/highly simplified powers.

Well, how do others feel about hte political party powers outlined above?

                    -
As for the parties themselves, even if you don't like the powers, please choose a party so that I can place you in the correct position

                    thanks!

I like the parties, but I think I'm with Joncha on the power front - no powers or very very simple ones.

I'll join Spam if the name of the party is changed to Society for Postcount Advanced Members. Quite ironic considering my kingly nature, especially it's recent aquisition.

                        Ditch the powers.

                        Where's the Conservative Party?

That would make the game too bland.

the communists at apolyton, for the most part- appear to be slightly demented and many seem to be just doing it as a joke- therefore they warrant a party... all the parties are meant to be joke-parties

                          -
Okay... so 3 votes against the powers and none for as of yet.

Can't say that I'm excited about these powers either.
We're sorry, the voices in my head are not available at this time. Please try back again soon.

                                Powers complicate the game unnecessarily.

I think Assassins and Mafia should number 16 players and have only one Assassin/Mafia. I'm going to play the next Mafia, since I seem to get kicked out in the first rounds here every time.

So much for the secret ballot eliminating the docpiles.
