    • ok. so next thing i do is check all recent journal entries for anything on Ignus' work, then go back and talk to every single character in the clerks, ward, focusing just on that, till i find it.

I went down an entry to the "underworld of sigil" thinking it might lead somewhere interesting, like the sewers in BG. Had some really nasty monsters. Any reason to try again?

      • Although I wasn't real impressed by him as a "fighter" I tink he has a crossbow you can use. Like the only crossbow in the game . But losing Morte isn't the end of the world. His usefulness isn't that great near the end of the game. The fighter/mage can do more damage I believe. Morte is pretty useful in the early stages, because you don't have much offensive power then. Combat isn't a real big part of this game anyways.

        • Under-sigil is just a place to level up your characters. You can also get some good drops there much later in the game, when it's too late for them to do you any good.

          Spoiler:
Morte, Nordrom, and the githzerai become much more impressive after you explore all of their dialogue options. F'rinstance, Morte gets some nice stat boosts after you explore the "baatorian smell" dialogue options, and the githzerai becomes much more impressive after you've unlocked the 8th circle of zerthimon and talked to him about it. I added Fall-From-Grace to my party on the second run-through just to get the "baatorian smell" dialogue options, and dumped her shortly after. Who needs her healing spells when you've got blood bridge?

          • fall from grace and annah were pleasant to look at I had both in my party. Along with the gith and Morte. And near the end I got that one dude who's real hard to get. he's a lawful evil type.

I didn't bother with Ignus, as I was a mage myself, I didn't need the extra mage firepower.

            • I got Ignus to get some spells (since I had HP to spare), then dumped him. A lot of the tougher enemies are immune to fire anyway, which is also why I never bothered getting those expensive fire-teeth for Morte (the first time through I couldn't afford them, the second time through I could afford them but I knew I didn't want them, since Ingress' teeth are more consistent).

              • ok, ive gotten fall from grace, and the word to get Ignus(had to check a walkthrough to get that )

I want another mage sine im not a mage. Clearly going nameless one going mage and then learning blood bridge should be powerful, but i already had daakon learn that scroll, and i assume no other blood bridge scroll will show up, so im keeping nameless a fighter.

It seems from talking to Annah that i can get nameless journal back in Pharods hangout, and i need that to open up more of the game.

                • Blood bridge is a pretty common spell, I think it might even be a random drop, but at any rate I'm almost sure that somebody sells it. It's a lot more useful to have Nameless One cast it than Dakkon, seeing as how Nameless One regenerates like a madman if you're playing lawful-good. Ignus and Fall-From-Grace also regenerate (I assume that Ignus could cast blood bridge, though like I said I dumped him and never had him learn it), but not nearly as quickly as a beefed-up Nameless One -- it can be a problem with Fall-From-Grace, who's a real idiot in battle.

I don't think you need any of Nameless One's journals to finish the game, though they give good experience and some really help later on. At this point you can probably leave Sigil whenever you want (after completing the "getting the stuff to leave Sigil" quest, of course).

                  Spoiler:
Pharod has the bronze sphere, which you should pick up -- it's a journal of sorts, I suppose. The other journals are the one in your crypt in the catacombs (the stuff written on the walls), and the dodecohedron in your old room in the hall of sensates.

geez, i think i returned the bronze sphere to Pharod, wasnt I supposed to? Wonder if this is yet another mistake I cant undo?

So is it worth it to turn Nameless to a mage? that leaves me with no pure fighter, but maybe thats ok.

                          • Nameless is still pretty good as a fighter even after you've switched him over to magery, so long as you boosted his knife proficiency.

                            • ok ive picked up Ignus. I wonder if it will be annoying that he has all his own set of spells. I mean i can see why that could be seen as adding to the story, and adding strategy, but i have enough trouble remembering spell effects as it is.

now im gonna go look for mourning trees (or whatever) to finish that quest.

got his sphere, went into his vault, got the doll

then went back to the clerks ward, became a sensate,
                                Spoiler:
went to my old room, got all those spells, and the dodecahedron - now i need to figure out what to do with the sphere, the dodecahedron, and the doll

also still looking for mourning trees, so i can go back to Mebbeth and become a Mage.
