          • The starter kit (full version of Crimson Skies, 12 month subscription, voice communicator) is $59MSRP, KB Toys has it for $38 right now.

            Then it's $49US/year to renew, or $5.99US/month.

            • I confess I'm not sure how it works. Do you pay for a connection separately?

              • You jack into the ethernet connection on your router. It would help to have broadband internet.

You must have broadband internet to go on Xbox live.

                  • Hmm, then I'd have to really want to play an XBOX game MP to pay that, since most PC MP games are free.

                      Has anyone played this yet?

It's a Gladiatorial combat RPG set up in ancient times.
You have to beware with many xbox titles - most of them do look really great.
Gladius didn't get the review scores to make me want to buy it, in fact Gamespot was quite underwhelmed with it
And when you are buying at £40 a time for a new title, it pays to really hunt around for the game reviews and forum chat.
Unless your Xbox live you dont even have an option(if avialable!) to patch.
So at the momment if your a Strat fan, then the PC is still the best platform

Underwhelmed? It got 8.4/10. And if you check games rankings it got pretty good reviews. Not bad at all. Moreover, it's fairly cheap: you can have it for about 35$ CDN.

I waited 3 years for the game to come out. Personally, maybe because I had my hopes up too high, I think that the game is probably an 8/10. The story isn't that bad, but is lacking something. I mean, if Red was a little more evolved than I think I would have been more satisfied.

The game can be a baz_nitch at times (the difficulty even in normal is hard) but the graphics are kick a**. The sound is good, but the game is pretty linear...not what I was expecting from Rockstar.

Even with these faults that I think the game has, I think it's really good but could have been developed better.

Good to rent, but I wouldn't recommend buying it unless you really want a Western style game.

My bad - i meant the review of it made me feel underwhelmed
I think at the time when i was hearing about it i was looking for another morrowind-type game, so the combat heavy play turned me away. But on reflection it does sound interesting and i think i saw it in the second hand rack of my local store , would you recomend i check it out? I'm lacking a decent combat game, but think Ninja Gaiden might be a bit too hard core for my tastes.

Thanks for the input. I'll probably just borrow it from him when he gets tired of it.

The main problem with my bud is that he cannot handle first person shooters from the first person perspective. That is why he loves these 3rd person games so much. I don't seem to have the problem.
