        • Downloaded the mod Conquest and have enjoyed it alot. I know im late picking up on it but there are many parts of this mod that could be used in future updates to more mods or maybe in the playtests.
The extra units work great as you go thur the 6 ages.
The updates and funny lines in the intell screen are a nice touch.
Peter didnt use diplomod but coded a fear factor in the ai factions . As you grow in power and expand the other civs will become more aggresive towards you.
Might be something to look at . Diplomod gave us AI to AI diplomacy (update to code as well). But this mod at times has the AI looking at the big picture .
But the downside is the aggression remains high. But thats way its call Conquest. Maybe Diplmod could have this feature that as you begin to over power the other Civs diplomacy becomes impossible and AI gangs up on you.

          • Doesnt the aggression go down once they take some cities from you or kill a load of your units and make you less of a threat? That would make sense, that they start dealing with you again, making alliances and treaties etc, but once you start building up too much military for your size (beyond garrison) the AI should start to get aggressive.

Basically based on military size and standing, not empire size. Perhaps based on location and type of military units too, ie you are no threat to AI's on another continent if you have a small navy/airforce. In this way the human would have no tricky way of lulling the AI into a false sense of security, if youre building up for war then youll get a fight, if youre building up your cities then the AI will open up for alliances, research and lots of trade.

            • I haven't been around much (or at all) lately and one of the primary reasons was that I was in the process moving to a new place. That's finally done now, so hopefully I will have a little bit more time again to spend here (though I'm already commited to several other projects as well, both on Apolyton and outside, so it remains to be seen how things work out).

Anyway, in case anyone wants to see with their own eyes what I've been up to: http://apolyton.net/forums/showthrea...83#post3709683

                • And I already wanted to ask where my news item is, its now pending for one and a half day. That can't be to much to check it and approve it for you three.

I'm not terribly fond of it myself, but it *is* very satisfying to live in a house that you decorated all by yourself (well, with a little help from friends and family anyway).

Well, you're the first person EVER to actually use that feature to submit a news item. You can't blame me (I don't think the other editors are even around anymore) for not checking every single day...

                    Anyway, news item approved...

I know for this reason I decided it would be the best to announce it here. It just happened that you posted here before.

Well I didn't see here Gilgamensch, either. But HuangShang posted here on Apolyton in the Succession Game thread recently. And actually he is online in the moment of writing this post.

Of course it should not only be your or my task to write all the news items. We had in the last time some events worth of being an news item, e.g. new playtest, version control server. Writing news for the project is also one job, everyone can do especilly if he cannot code. At least the server should get one, any takers? Except Locutus and me?

                      • I thought about writing an article for the sprites i made/scenario im making, but couldnt figure out whether it was too self-aggrandizing, not news worthy or i just couldnt be bothered.

We have material for lots of news items though its just no one writes them, how about "Locutus decorates new home"? Its a deal better than some of the crap they suppose is news-worthy in other sections.

Well you have to send this to Locutus by email or PM, as it isn't CivGroup news but CTP2 news. Maybe this MyNews feature should also be added to the main section.
