Well i'm happy not being able to add things to a build queue i haven't yet discoverd...........if i'm understanding you correctly Gilg?

And in CTP2 i always use the build queue's(as i do in all civ type games), they are useful especialy when setting up new cities mid - late game.

For CTP2 AI build priorities doesn't it work so that depending on the AI personality and state of play(weather its being attacked a lot etc) it picks a build queue to use as a template? If not would this be a good(ie possible) way to do it?

EDIT: sorry this is going off topic i think so please ignore!

we're talking about CTP1 worker system i think.

        Yep, little bit OT.

But shortly coming back to this OT-topic:

I never liked to have 5 lists to update my queues.

The normal build queue is quit OK, when you have only a few cities, but after a few more cities, when you wonder: Did I already build building XXXX in city YYYY, which is a bit painful to check.........

The AI build priorities: don't know.

But you CAN make a full build queue of anything, whether you researched it on not. Ive attached a queue with all the buildings. Put it in your ...\ctp2_program\ctp\save\queues then ''load'' from build manager for any empty queues.

I also found a bug with the create custom queue thing, that when you save a queue with the same name as one already there the game freezes. Needs an overwrite option or whatever.

            Thanks Maq,

as I said I couldn't remember it anymore, maybe it was this which annoyed me and I hadn't had time yesterday testing it. (Plus I can't remember anymore where my CTP-CD is )

                Yes: 11
                No: 15
                Abstain: 3

we seem not to be able to decide clearly about which system is better..............

                Jesus.............

Well the 'No' vote has it at the momment ,even if the 3 undecided wanted to go for the CTP1 worker per tile system.

I guess that aspect of micro-management is seen to have been improved in CTP2, even if at the cost of a certain amount of direct player control over tile usage.

Which makes the Sorce code project teams task easier

And i'm sure if we decide to increase the importance of trade goods in the game, we will be able to adapt the current ctp2 system to take advantage of it.

i voted yes for the CTP1 system

however thinking more about it and reviewing the replies in this thread, the CTP2 system is probably better but i think it needs some additions and changes to give the player more options and flexability over the tiles usage

                      I agree with that SMIFFGIG.

I mean in an unmodded game i dont get to make a city specialized in production until i have Industrial Revolution, which is a long way away.

It'd be better to keep the existing system, but have a drop down list to specialize slightly... which change the percentage of resources that are gained for each category (I.E. Balanced = 100/100/100, Food = 110/90/90, Prod = 90/110/90, Comm = 90/90/110)
                      Something like this might work.

I think it simple but I want control of the gold good before my city is 30 strong.

Then build a city closer to the gold next time. If the Gold is 3 rings away from your city (and it would be at size 30) then it would be inefficient to travel so far to collect gold for that city straight away.

Yes Maq - thats exactly what i do. Its a strategic choice of sorts, cause i may be sacrificing better growth. Still until we have real strategic resources it wont be as serious a choice as i'd like it to be.
