Scratch that - all it does is reset the names of the civ's leader and nation, etc. That's not going to help .

What do you think is better- The Great Wall or Forbidden City, The Koreans just beat us to Aristotle's Lyceum so I need to chose which wonder to change to? Any advice would be appreciated

I dunno, id go for Great Wall since we can be certain we'll get what we want from it -25% support costs, but Forbidden City increases regard and closes embassies? Well maybe that will bring peace from a couple of nations but so what, we want to conquer them anyway or at least knock the most aggressive ones down a notch.

I was also looking at the code executed by '/reloadslic', and it appears to reset all the message lists as well as recreating the SLIC engine - perhaps it is the former which solves the problem with the messages, not the latter, and it would be possible to do only what is necessary with a new command...
The problem is that some datas seem to get lost in the process of a /reloadslic as the game is asking me to set some options again the following turn. The other problem is that the messages currently displayed are of no use as they don't have any meaning, it is not very pleasant to play when you don't know for sure what is going on in your empire.

Note: I accidently deleted my entire report for my 15 turns. I'll make a brief summary instead.

Right from the start, Canada AND Eygpt launched an invasion force simultaniously. The larger Eygption force was first prioty, and much of our military was focused on repeling them. The Eygptions made a few big errors by splitting up their troups at the wrong time and were able to be fought off rather easily. There was one battle where luck was on their side and there eight stack killed 8 units of our twelve stack.

The Canadians attacked our Western Empire, and it was up to Cyrus the Great to stop there attack. He bravely lead a small force of mounted archers into battle eventually wearing down the Canadian forces.

Domestically, my main focus was building up troop stregth. We now have a 12-stack of early catapults ready for battle. I also started Aristotle's Lyceum, but the Koreans beat it to us by a few turns. Ulundi is now one turn away from completing the Great wall. I also farmed/neted the land around Ulundi.

After the first invasion force was fought off, The Eygptions launched another invasion force to our Eastern Empire. Although not as big as their first invasion, they almost managed to take Ngwak. They stil have a few troops in our territory...

The Canadians, angry that their first invasion was fought off by Cyrus, has launched another large scale attack. Cyrus, and his now 11 mounted archers, are currently engaged in battle.

            Thats it.

Note to HuangShang: I stopped at turn 129 because the Great Wall will be complete next turn. I played the turn, so just end it and begin your turns at 130.

750- the rise to power of HanWuDi is celebrated by the finishing of the Great Wall, thanx EPW
unthankfully to EPW, a Canadian 7stack just appears outa nowhere and natal is in great danger!
i have no choice but to stick six to defend, oh yeah, and pray too
another surprise, a barb catapult found next to the road...

725- natal still stands... no significant casualtys, but we will be refilling the ranks of the 6 defenders (leave them to heal)

625- koreans do the appian way, forbidden city is ours fo sho, peace treaty b/w us now
some 7canadians commit suicide in natal, but takes w/ them a regular hoplite

600- HanWuDi steps down, KangXi voted by cardinals (it is an orlithigargy[sp]) to throne
all canadian presence in Zululand eliminated, but the Egyptians are getting annoying

500- Cyrus's troops refreshed for new ones, as Cyrus's injured vets join other armies
republic reached, but i'm not switching, maybe some else will, but not yet
it has become a national pasttime to watch the Egpytians run into our country and get chased by our troops, the problem is that the national pasttime isnt watch egyptian soldiers die

475- Cyrus and KangXi died from frontline battle, the cowards in the Cyrus Calvary have been brought to court martial (why was he at the front, hes the ONLY one that died!!!!!)
In retaliation for the murder of Cyrus, we take Monterey, w/ 2 hoplite units lost
an aspiring general risen from poverty, HuangShang (me, not a historical figure like the last two) placed on the throne, and Monterey renamed [HuangDi], it means the same
BTW, that warrior in canada seems to have been found or they're finally going after him, so he'll be sent on border patrol

450- i kinda doubt the warrior will even make it out, he has two mounted archers behind him, but i might be able to get our calvary over here
started 2 trade route that yield 126 profit b/w our own cities
i decided to go defensive on the canadian thing as anymore captured city might cause them to surrender, which would anger some members of our court who have warned me to only weaken the neighbors
the sliders are NOT effecting happiness, and the advisors have no answers

425- the warrior officially made it to safety, but what good is that
all but the former Cyrus Calvary to be shipped to the Egyptian front (they are just too annoying right now)
got embassies? we finish forbidden city at the capital

400- scouts sighted some modern catapults... and we still have a while unit theo
ONLY a hoplite and catapult take down 4 of our Cav, leaving only two! those catapults be OHKO on us! added one to make only 3 healthy cavs, maybe my successor might see it more fitting to wipe out the canadians, the armies havent gone far yet

375- HuangShang joins a Buddhist church in the mountains to the southeast b/w the three warring nations of Canada, KwaZulu, and Egypt, who will succeed him?

Since we have the Forbidden city we could try to make peace with the Eygptions, and they won't beable to attack us until we attack them or the wonder expires. That way we can just focus on one country at a time.

I think we might as well take out the Canadians and deal with the consequences later.

I don't see the point of looking for a peace as the AI civs are not respecting their words. I have already concluded a cease-fire with the Egyptians and they attacked a city the turn after. The Canadians broke the cease-fire a few turns after having accepted it.

Is there something I have missed about the Forbidden City wonder? As far as I know this wonder is only improving our regard toward the other nations, it does not prevent them from breaking their word.
