Now as for that pic, man where are your fighters and who buys tanks? Egad lololol. Look less cost better defence more millage and well the attack is quite good.

Even a hand full of marines and a few planes has that offensive stopped. Birdy is about to learn the fighter power in a game ;0) Personally I can't remember the last time I made a tank? Marines, fighters, sold fighters for jets, then nukes... Try it out. Grandpa sell man sell ;0)

now the fighter/marine thing is a good idea, cost efficiency it is, isnt it ?
i just dont understand under that point of view why you should turn in a 10/10/10 unit for 1125 at half its cost for a 15/12/12 unit for 1500...

                  Troll,
                  Tank 16/16/10 > Fighter 10/10/10
but Tank cost 2000, Fighter cost 1125

                  cost efficiency:
                  Tank: 8/8/5 per 1000
                  Fighter: ~9/9/9 per 1000

means you can build more of them for the same production cost. more troops -> effectively more firepower

i think that was what ice was talking about.
plus, fighters can fly home the turn they attack.

                  Interceptor:
                  15/12/12 for 1500
= 10/8/8 per 1000, about the same range as fighters, but you get only half the value in return, thus i was wondering.

granted, interceptors are faster i saw, but still wondering if its worth getting only half the fighter's cost to add to the interceptor's, thus reducing the number of total firepower you are able to produce.

ok educate me, since I never use air power, if you do attack with a figheter or interceptor you say they an retreat home after the attack?

I was wondering as a tank in 9 stack is an awesome assault method, do fighters have enough in the attack to justify them?

I guess thats what airbases are for..

By the way since talking airbases, how many air units can be there?

                    same as city?
                    Thanks

                      same as any square, 9.
and yes, planes can retreat after an attack. but im not totally sure if they can when they attack together with, say, marines. i know that, when they capture a city together with land units, they lose their moves like the land units do.

Exactly! :0) So why build one tank to attack or defend against two fighters, let alone a marine or two tossed in.

                          It's a numbers, cash, attrition thing. ;0)

Too true and they are but not so much in CTP/cost.

i just dont understand under that point of view why you should turn in a 10/10/10 unit for 1125 at half its cost for a 15/12/12 unit for 1500.
Ok fair enough Fighter, someone correct me if I am wrong here: Full health fighter is 600 shields so exchange for Jet is 900. Less than a marine cost and HP=10/A=15/D=12/M=15 nice trade.Right to the front line and or clean up duties in one turn. Active air defence clean a tank in one shot and fly back for repairs and add to defence, heh Canadians it's more than just ice and a puck ya know! :0)

                                Tank 16/16/10 > Fighter 10/10/10
but Tank cost 2000, Fighter cost 1125
Er more like Tank: HP=10/A=16/D=10/M=6(subject to terrain)/Cost=2000

                                Fighter: HP=10/A=10/D=10/M=10(No terrain effect)/Cost=1125
                                Marine: HP=10/A=12/D=8/M=3/Cost=1000(subject to terrain)

So a marine and a fighter for 125 extra. The fighter is multi-rolled, instant defence and offence across oceans, mountains etc... Very strong in spotting and toasting stray units, re-groupings with small groups. In both the fighter and jet they can take a tank out in one shot. Ya the terrain has a play but remember marines can go on mountains as can fighter/jets. Let alone the fact they can fly back for repair and defence duties. The tank is moot...

So the poor tank either in a city or on the road.
In this case a jet or a spy would have caught those 50 lol or more tanks with 75ish fighters and about what 20-30 marines from weaker cities on the road. We saw that in Iraq did we not? ;0)

Air power is better...Equate these two units to Sols and pikemen. It's the next evolution. The next one is space planes and space fighters with marines. For the not so weak at heart toss in a nuke or two and it is a potent combination. Game breaker...
