    • You volunteered that the book tie-ins had allowed paying a coder. I did not say that. Geezuz, Vel. What the hell are you doing? What do the people around you think of this? You have a brain. (although less of one than you think.) Use it for useful things. Build something tangible. This is fairy dust.

      • And IF Amazon was the only place the books were sold, I'd be worried.

Good thing that's not the case, eh?

The list of published books grows. If you're curious to see what sort of stories I weave out, head to Amazon.com and do an author search for "Christopher Hartpence." Help support Candle'Bre, a game created by gamers FOR gamers. All proceeds from my published works go directly to the project.

        • If, if, if. You never bring any facts. Just "what might be occuring". You're full of it. Go get air and sweet tea in the emerald forest.

          • Chris: this analysis implies it may have been several months since you sold a SINGLE COPY of Five Days on Amazon.

"With no more known sales in the interim, it will stand around 2,000,000 today, eight months later."

            • You're great TCO... I really am having fun reading this. It's funny that you do not consisder a bunch of novels, a developed universe and an actual game that is in constant development something tangible.

              • IIRC(and I very well might not), this project was ongoing already around the time I registered, in 2000?

                  • Okay. Still, that is soon 6 years since. I remember reading much of it when it was announced, but later I've heard nothing. The only reason I understood it still was active, was the thread by TCO in the OT. So, what's the status then?

Granted, the project hasn't been very... loud about itself for most of its existence. I've followed it very closely since the beginning, though - I can say that, for almost the entirety of this period, some development has been happening. Now is no exception.

Why don't you give us a thoughtful evaluation of the progress then. feel free to use numbers, to draw comparisons, etc.

                          • While I am not Vel... realize two things. There is no deadline here for anyone to report progress against that. And there is no paying customer base that is entitled to any kind of reports. I agree, though, that there could be more regular or semi-regular news reports in the public.

At any rate, this is much preferable to what many other projects do - advertise themselves a lot, make a real ruckus and then die off without producing any (publicly released) result. It's better to be loud in advertising when you have a result to show publicly, not internally.

                            • If you "followed it very closely", why are you incapable of a well-written evaluation? Are you stupid? Or just unwilling?
