Sprayber, thanks for pointing out my error... I forgot to check out your map. University will indeed be located in Zak, Nova, and Univeralis Prime (the 3rd unnamed star).
Univeralis Prime: Solar System 1 with the 2 Earth Planets... Pop: 3 billion... settled in 2353, after University discovered Spaceflight, then found the Star-Gate by accident and was warped to the three star systems. The University had almost 350 years to colonize that region... Nova Prime will be Solar System 2, with the 5 Mars planets and the oceanic planet (Waterworld, anyone?) and has about 50 million people living in sea-cities and the terraforming cities on the Mars worlds... Zak will be desginated as Solar System 3, mostly young and rugged with a lot of raw minerals to exploit but sucks for population centers... about 2 million miners, defense personnel, support personnel, and hardy colonists determined to try and colonize the volanic planets.
Military... University has 3 battleships, 6 carriers, 12 Heavy cruisers, 24 destroyers... and thats it for the whole 3 systems. (1 battleship, 2 carriers, 4 cruisers, and 8 destroyers per system) Also, these ships tend to have green crew... no experience in serious combat. However, University makes up for this huge lack in offensive capability by incredible defensive systems. University tends to focus more on fortifying its 3 home systems aganist invaders and unwanted "tech-stealers"
Therefore, University has orbital batteries, defense platforms, and multiple scanners to scan for cloaked or sneaky forces. the defenses are armed with Space to Space Xaos entropy missiles, and the Plasma Lasers. My Xaos is loosely derived from the Xaos from Civ: ToT. I'm not a huge science nerd but from what I understand... Entropy is a technology that maxmizies the potential of something to blow up... correct me if I'm wrong and I'll be willing to amend it. Make it something similiar, to missiles that can deliver multiple warheads to a given area.
Hows these for reality, Sprayder and LMP? I'd appreciate any feedback! So I can finally begin writing my piece and not go too far regarding general rules of reality in this story

Franky, well, um, the University has an alliance with Morgan and (I think) the Spartans. Could an alliance with you Hive guys work out with the University?
Silence, I would like to hear Kassiopeia's thoughts on a future attack on Capella. I think Morgan has his blood up and does see the advantages of taking Capella (Kassiopeia, is Capella a moon or planet or a system?) and it would be very hard to retake by the Terrans, and so it could be very secure. My guess is that several weeks after loosing Callisto he'd be after Capella, but if I would like to hear Kassiopeia's thoughts on this. If Morgan can get one resounding victory over these Terrans he can sue for peace against Terra.

Hey guys! My timeline is up, go check it out in Sign-Up thread... Gimme any ideas or feedback
I'm going to incorporate Neutronium hulls, Plasma Lasers, heavy defenses, Xaos missiles, etc. seeing that no one has objections to them. I'd like to start off my story with first contact with either Morganites or Hive...
(nudges HistoryGuy and FrankyChan for ideas how to work out the first contact situation)

Just some back ground info on the University. First Contact shouldn't be an issue except maybe recontact with the Hive, and contact the protectorate. University has been trading with Morgan and Drones for sometime now. And even the PKs. Contact with Sparta would be cordial and usually through morgan channels I would think. Maybe the occassional Spartan ships comes into University territory for offical reasons but never a battle ship of any kind. the kind of resprentation of foreign governments would be up to sovereign. Since leaving Chiron the University has probably not been in many serious conflicts. choosing to stay neautral and concentrate on research. I'm sure that they have advances that they haven't introduced yet. They pretty much know to not really choose sides. but the rest is up to Sovereign.

Here is the basic early time line that everyone agreed upon. Again Just basic events and hopefully not too specific.
2221-Progenators Land on Alpha Centauri
2301-Combined Spartan-Pirate-Peacekeeper-Hive armies overrun the last Progenitor stronghold. Conqueror Marr interred in a punishment sphere. University instrumental in providing technological support to Human Alliance.
2303-Morganites-Gaians-Believers are given back lands formerly liberated by Human armies.
2336-Universty and Morgans become the first factions to colonize Nessus and Pholus.
2354-Spartan and Hive forces attempt take over of Nessus mining operations.
2355-Moon Accords are finalized allowing Spartan and Hive to mine small portion of Nessus.
2379-Unversity scientist field first prototype FTL drive.
2381-Improved version of FTL drive is completed. Data Angel probes steal design for first prototype drive. Information is spread across Chiron.
2382-Spartans and Hive threaten war if all information on the new FTL is not released.
2384-University is forced to release information but withholds vital specifications about minerals need to power the drive. At least four different ores are found to work but University only mentions Kalciate as mineral needed.
2388-Peacekeepers attempt to get the factions to agree on equal shares of the FTL drive technology. Spartans and University refuse to cooperate with each other. The Hive-Spartan alliance crumbles and the two factions start small scale fighting. University is relieved of the Spartan Hive threat.
2390-University, with Morgan financial backing, produced the first fully operational FTL ship.
2399-Morgan and University begin production on Colony and Mining ships.
2400-Spartans and Hive launch separate attacks on University territory. Peacekeepers intervene on behalf of the University.
2401-Spartans launch first space attack on a University-Morgan space station. Two completed FTL ships are captured.
2402-Ceasefire is declared and peace returns to Chiron. FTL treaty is signed.
2406-Cyborg Scientists prefect first FTL Comm device. Information is shared to all factions but gets little fanfare initially. (Cyborgs will always seem to be able to communicate better than every other human faction.)
2417-Morgans move their headquarters off of Chiron and become the first faction to leave Chiron. They retain a few assets on Chiron and Nessus, But majority of Morgan employees move with Headquarters.
2420-University sets up their headquarters off world as well. Find out of the way planet to continue research. They maintain relations with Morganites and Peacekeepers.
2424-Spartans join exodus off planet. They wonder for years to find the right planet to take.
2428-Spartans land at Spartan Point on a planet they name Sparta.

Sovereign I loved some of your events. But if you could just rearrange some of them with different dates to fit the timeline of the early years. The time between 2420 on is completly up to you. You may want to read some of the timelines and maybe insert some contact with them. Like I said above, the Uni has pretty much maintained contact with Morgan and the Pks. with off and on contact with the Spartans. The Spartans pretty much get the tech that you trade with morgan. Probably at an increased cost most likly But thats ok, cause the Morgans know the value of the Spartan Federation.
