Before i start... I am against super weapons/techs/defences/etc... so be careful with this anti-alien plague now actually, it is overlly silly for a plague that only kills aliens, not other humans.... (the impression i am getting without reaching to that point in the story) Even if you "program" the plague to sniff living beings DNA and etc to see wether or not their Human, it won't work. In this day and age of BAC, it is rare to find natural bred Humans...with all this genetic engineering, longivity, mutations, telepathy gene, cyborg stuff, etc going on, makes very hard. Even if the plague is Nano related and i having the feeling that Lonestar is to much into Babylon 5 (hidden argument... that essay wether the Shadows ships are bio or nanite base is ridiculous and a lot of the evidence doesn't prove wether their ships are bio or not. just because they use nanites in their plague doesn't mean the Shadow ships' armor is nano base. Since a lot of canon information says Bio armor, that essay is null but i am willing to accept the use of nanites with Bio armor thought...anyway take those Omega-X destroyers )
As for the fleet size issue, makes more sense that all Military fleets have a larger ratio of non-capital ships then capital ships.
Now, as for the Terran Alliance going conquering.... Sprayber, i know it will be hard, especially if the TAF goes after the Spartans.... but one point i made which rest proven without saying it is that, the Chironians and so on will be busy fighting among themselves The Spartans will be kept busy in other fronts. TAF will take advantage of that. The TAF itself is strickly a military base organization and technicly could be considered a seperate faction within Sol. Once war officially declared, the TAF will make sure no nonsence stuff is happening among the members while they completly reorganize the defences of Sol and integrate the members militaries. If a member military causes trouble, being counter productive, the TAF won't twice to blast them away or more justifiable actions.
Since the TAF is a military organization, and when war start, TA politics won't effect them (meaning, members can't choose to boss TAF around concerning defence and so on for example, like the EC and InEn did alot)
The Fleet Admiral knows why he is doing and he knows how costly wars can be, but he is confident the TAF is ready. He is not overconfident, neither does he underestimates. he is a Master Strategist and tactician....like Admiral Thrawn in starwars He doesn't have personal motives either...he is geared to the manifest destiny belief and he knows it won't become reality overnight. Anyway, because of the way he is and being the one who personally organize the TAF since its creation, TAF can be quite tough to beat, despite tech differences. So when i say it is hard to directly acquire intelligence on the TAF via espionage of any form, it is because of the several reasons i gave above. Now, after the TAF's first real ground war against the Morganites(which their troops there get to see first hand for the first time at the dicipline and so on, reminding of the Spartans ), Fleet Admiral Kerensky will see how good the TAF Marines are......which is a mix conventional warfare of Power Armored Marines, Hover Tanks, Siege Tanks, Fighter-Bombers, Goliath Walkers, etc....
Don't forget they are Biometal made
Another point i made, TAF will not simply use Force when they start Conquering out of all the factions in Sol, only the TAF as a strong Intelligence on various Chiron and so on factions...so they generally more about the Universe then rest of Sol.... they will be using Propaganda, Diplomacy, Probin, etc to acquire systems, especially some neutral independent ones.
Anyway, the TAF will surprise many factions of their abilities not invincible, but just Tough and Smart.
Grr, wish i could start writting more into TAF then the Pirates at the moment, lol. After exploring some Babylon 5 sites and so on, I need to redo the specs on the Terran Battlecruiser ...the backbone and mainstay of the TAF.. TAF Ships is mainly the BC, Carrier, Destroyers, Msl Frigates, Multi-Gun Frigates, Heavy Corvettes, and Scouts....a long with Starfury and Thunderbolt Fighters.
