The map used will be the standard map of planet if someone can post it somewhere. If no one has the map, then I have an excellent idea for a map I can post on a webpage.

                Some questions
one day = 2 weeks Are we going to use a separate Chiron calander or our own?

How strictly are we going to adhere to the game mechanics - again considering time, with 52 (earth) weeks to a year, it is going to take 26 days to go through a mission year, which is going to make for slow progress if we can only achieve in the 26 days what we can do in ONE game turn...perhaps each day(two weeks) could be treated like a turn.

More about game mechanics from an earlier post of LordLMP (I don't know how to do those fancy pull quote thingies)
Anyway, we would have to keep score of money, and so on of the choosen faction?
Would we operate like the game or can we do things where the game doesn't give the option too? like guerilla warfare, resistances in conquered bases, establish outposts, landmines/seamines, secret bases, and so on?
How will units divised? like in Spartans Chronicles...one Needlejet unit in the game represents one needlejet (way i see it) and in Alien Crossfire, one Needlejet unit is one squadron worth of needlejets in the story. How about infantry? will it be size up into Regiments, Divisions, platoons or whatever per unit? What about Secret projects? one unrealistic thing about SPs in the game is that, what stops the other faction trying to build their own version of the SP already built in another faction? realisticly, what stops another faction to have a Command Nexus aswell? a Marine place, Cloud Academy? Space Elevator? and so on?

Are we going to post EVERYTHING, or only the most important things which are helping to drive the story? Should we work out what has to be posted and what should be reported (secretly?) to the GM's - bearing in mind the more we have to report the more work it will be for the GM's

I pretty much have the idea that this will basically be a game of fiction, not a fictional representation of a proper SMACX game - but we need to work out what parts we need to specify throughout the game (like pop, seeing as we all have a starting pop, and techs as well) and what we can make generalisations about, and take some liberties with in order to prodeuce a good, fun and also believable story.

Hope I'm not being too pedantic.

I had picked the CC, but maybe we should fill the original factions first, seeing as they all exist. I'll swap to whatever of the original seven are left if not all of them get claimed by the time we start...if we think we need them.

Disallowed means it cannot be used in the game and Allowed means it can be.

Well, technicly, we are starting out like Time Warp :P just not random. What year shall we start? 2118 still?

                    * Your faction can pick any two level one technologies.
                    -Applied Physics (Conquer 1)
                    -Biogenetics (Discover 1)
                    -Centauri Ecology (Explore 1)
                    -Doctrine: Mobility (Explore 1)
                    -Industrial Base (Build 1)
                    -Information Networks (Discover 1)
                    -Social Psych (Build 1)

whoa there, some factions start out with those techs in the game, so should already have it? Anyway, maybe list factions and their starting tech and two player choices.

                    * Mindworms count as a faction
                    * You can write however you wish but newspaper writing will be the standard accepted.

                    *Bonuses per faction:
                    Believers (Army) +2 Units
                    Gaians (Army) +1 Unit
                    Morganites (Economy)
University (Research) +1 Level 1 Tech
                    Peacekeepers (Society) +20,000 people
                    Hive (Army) +2 Units
                    Spartans (Army) +3 Units

What about Nautilus Pirates? :P They landed in a Sea Pod, which makes the only Crossfire faction to come directly from the ship. They existed since planetfall and still no discovered, since they are alone in the waters at the beginning :P

*Distribute a population of 200,000 among as many cities as you wish.

Isn't that 20 people icons? what about 10? Again, what year are we starting from? 2118 still? Also, may be different for each faction, depending on their bonus...or whatever. Also, base on a factions expansion behaviour...which can be base a bit on what the AI does in the game... Anyway, I don't think i will have a fully gamelike detailed map transfered to gif, but i have with a simple overall map and mark the various landmarks. We will use a Large PlanetX map?
be easier for land claims and can just give the coordinates or whatever for capital and then work from there. I will update the map and transfer it in a overall way and post it on the net... of course, i have no website...maybe create a dummy Hotmail account for everyone to be able to get to and check updates? or whatever.

*Data Angels recently broke off, all other Alen Crossfire factions are as yet unknown.

Nautilus Pirates is already a independent faction since the start and still not discovered.
Aliens can show up whenever when we get a player for each i guess. Free Drones can start out by breaking off from the Hive, Cult starting out and been existing for couple of years let say and Cyber Consciousness been on their for about 5-10 years already. Of course, all depends really on when we start the game i guess, i am basing it on 2118. We should start out around 2-4 bases, depending on the factions and so on, distribute population from there.

*The first planetary governor council has recently covened and Brother Lal has won over Yang and Zakharov.

Maybe we should wait a bit before the first Planetary Council since some original factions won't be in contact yet, especially when they don't have Foils yet or have not found a comm Unity Pod or have got comm from another faction. Any Original Faction should be in contact with all of teh Original Faction before having a Planetary Council. Crossfire factions may join later on i guess, when they are more known among the factions and identify as independents or whatever.

*Any other needed rules can be asked

                    -LordLMP

                          ****
Not necessarily. The projects will never be rush-build nor will units. The only time money should come into play in the game is when we are determining whether a faction should bribe another or go into debt.

                          ****
One needlejet is worth a regiment of needlejets, or 500, whichever is more practical.

                          How about infantry?

                          ****
It works teh same as the needlejet question.
However people are recruited from cities and the population goes down as a consequence.

                          ****
Factions can have those, however they must announce to all the other factions, as in the games that they are building them; unless of course they are Yang or Miriam in which case the wonders are secret until built. (BONUS)
                          ****
All factions have the same starting population; 200,000 it may seem high but it will let the game get into action much quicker.
                          ****
The game year is 2118 AD or PY 18.
                          ****
If not enough people sign up people can double up (For a while) on factions.

No the factions will only start out with those which they have chosen.

-I 'could' start up a website if it is 'truly' needed.
I have the webspace, but not possibly the time. However if a webpage is needed I can make it.

Okay, planetary governor council has *NOT* convened.

Okay now, base on the Large PlanetX map, lets start the land claim. We'll first place your factions Capital... just give me an area (using the landmarks) or/and simple tell me the coordinates of the square

If a faction asn't been taking, moderators will defaultly position them.

Suggestions: have the broke off crossfire factions not very far from the original faction they broke off from.
i dunno, makes more sence....but its the players decision.
