KILL MONTY - 3 vs 2 - Any takers?

Since Marky and I are fine either way (especially knowing everyone else is as affected sidetracks as we are), why don't Bodissey, Florin, and Elian decide, and we will go with your decision.

If we restart, Marky and I would like to swap which teams we are playing, so that he can play the research side for a change. We would also like to swap the turn order for our factions, which actually leaves things just as they are, with me (Drones) going fourth, and Marky (University) going last.

And of course we want to make sure that the restart actually fixes the sidetracking problem. I think University can tell from the initial picks. Free Drones won't have a clue for at least 10 turns. Can the rest of you tell if you are being sidetracked from the initial picks?

I would just as soon keep this game going AND restart, because most of my games are stalled, and I am not playing nearly as much as I would like.

But if people are feeling that they are too pressed for time to continue the current game, then we could just restart. But again, let's make sure if we restart that it is done right.

I think we need a CMN (and Mart is the one i have in mind) to look over the setup of the curent game and start a new one. I'm sure he will know what happened, he usually dose.

Vet Map

I have noticed that Florin's tech wasn't available. I tried to understand by doing many tests on single player and multi... But I didn't find anything, when you receive or steal a tech in multiplayer the tech cost isn't supposed to raise and every tech is available according to the tech calculation maths. Even only in the vet map we're playing, the tech cost raises randomly. I loaded an earlier save to check that and the tech raised a little first time, and a lot more the second.

My point of view on this is to take the game as it is: a somehow random game where you don't really know what'll happen, and thus integrate a luck factor in the game. Maybe it can me more challenging like this, and more fun in another way. But we can start another game from the beginning at the same time of continuing this.

The fact is, i'm at the university(hmmm, university of planet) right now and I really don't have much time. I'm just asking you, would it be fine for you if I was taking lots of time to send the turns? In this way, I could manage to play both games and not fail my classes because of alpha centauri's obscession P

Good part about all this is that Elian is a maniac just like you , so it will be balanced.

So that way I read it, we BOTH continue the game (with all of the weird tech randomness affecting everyone) and restart a new game, allowing that the games might go a bit slower than we like due to Loevan's RL responsibilities. I am OK with that.

The problem is not the modiefied Vets Map. I have played many games on this map where everything was fine. So maybe we ask Mart to restart the new game with his magic?

We'll need a time to discuss strategy on our side. But for sure, I would need to hive to start at (68,52) instead of (67,53). That's not a big change, but it was a little annoying to start there last game.

I think also both my allies will agree to start on the jungle square both of them, and also the Morganites(Or Gaians) should be at the bottom left and the Angels bottom right this game. We'll need confirmation for that.

So i'll try to find the time to calculate the tech tree and get the player's order. We'll post when we are ready.

I like the start we had last time with 2 CP, 1 scout, and 1 former. I think that was a good suggestion by Florin. We should do the same with our restart game.
