I learn something new every single time I play a PBEM and most are things I would never learn if I played a 1000 solo games

I doubt that. Although Sebp could certainly knock you out and I probably could (geography would probably make it tough for mid or trotsky), there would seem to be no profit in it for either of us. In fact I would bet a keg of xenorum and a handful of planet pearls that you will not be the first one out.

i would like to thank everyone for the help n tips theyve given me
My one tip for next game is build more bases. The MOrganites can have an impressive energy in the base tile when running +3 econ and the hab limits and more difficult pop booms mean that more numerous bases are even more important.

nature of the game -- I have 3 going right now. One is a game where all 5 players are the cult with two Gaian AIs and the other one is an One City game with 3 UNiversities and 1 Consciousness... I took both over as a replacement--
I'd love to play more but other commitments get in the way

I'm back more or less. Played my civ4 turns this morning.
Anyways, though I also played most of this turn, but i think i want to write some emails before sending it on.

A more general tip from me - look into your pactmates bases in this game a lot and maybe ask what they are doing something and why.

I am debating with myself currently wether to start another game, but not before this one's decided.

Oh and if you or anyone else needs to do some diplomacy a personal message on here is the quickest way to get in contact. All external emails are blocked but I can message here and I check this board every couple of hours

Why wait? If you think it might take a couple of weeks to set up another one and then probably 30 game turns (ie several months) before the turns are longer than 5 minutes. The game turn in this one is coming around much more slowly ( as is usual as the turns get longer and diplomacy becomes necessary before playing)
What I try to avoid are having 2 or 3 games in that year 80 onward stage

No, i'm not starting another game right now. I probably have too many games already.

Now, about the current situation. The gaian leader hasn't answered to us on our questions on current events. (see below). Therefore all the drones can do for now is warn the hackers that any further acquisitions of gaian bases are heavily frowned upon. We also would like to start discussion about possibilities of transferring back those bases to gaian control. Political will building in the drone faction is still in progress though
In any case, drone intelligence experts suggest that the hacker fabrications of a big majority of the populace of these bases wanting to join the hacker empire and even initating the transfer of control are VERY unlikely to turn out true at best. We deem it alot more probable that some key police functions in those bases have been brainwashed.

Trotsky has, about a week ago, voiced plans to quit the game. I have tried to convince him to stay in the game, but not gotten an answer yet. Of course it is his good right to leave (i believe but am not sure he has been losing interest even before current events), or even his good right to do as he pleases with his bases.
Anyways, since the next turns are crucial to all factions i have requested in an email that he make up his mind and discuss the issue here. I think the game shouldn't progress too much before the issue is settled one way or the other.
Btw, have other players heard from him? Flubber, especially?

He had not answered repeated diplomatic inquiries even when doing things like sending units deep into my territory. But the turn kept coming around
On the last turn he did write a couple of lines but never mentioned quitting the game at all.

I have no idea as to what personal circumstances Trotsky has that might make him want to quit so I echo the idea that anyone can quit a game if they wish. However, I would not assume that he is quitting until he says that he is, for sure. The fact that he is uncommunicative does not make it final.
I do certainly hope that it is not solely in-game circumstances that caused Trotsky to voice thoughts of leaving. In my humble opinion anyone that joins a PBEM has a responsibility to TRY to see it through. Unless Trotsky's outside the game circumstances have changed, I would expect it wouldn't be too much effort for him .

A diplomatic note was sent to the Drones:
Honored Sebp of the Drones
The Angels acknowledge receipt of your diplomatic note voicing your displeasure at recent events between the Gaians and the Angels. Has a similar note been sent to the Gaians when you learned of their unwarranted invasion of Angel lands?
In any event, we refer you to our Treaty of the Ruins and Treaty of Sealurk Point. In both arrangements, you agreed that the Angels would have no limitations on their southern growth. We are in violation of NONE of our treaty obligations to you and therefore hope for a continuation of peaceful relations with you.
You have not been party to any of our dealings with the gaian peoples and we respectfully request that you do not involve yourself further

I guess on the Easter week it wouldn't be surprising if people are not around. Here a lot of people take vacations and some schools were on a a break for the week
