        • Situation is over as of today. if you want to know (what i said above was worded too strong perhaps) it was only the last of my exams at university which was today (now i only need to produce some diploma thesis thingy)

I probably would have had time to play ( iactually continued to play 2 turns a day of a civ4 pbem but that is so much more simple), but i think these next turns are important so i wanted to be in a mindset where i could focus on the game. Though the exam is over (and went very well which was also expected, really ) I'm not sure yet when i will play the turn, but sunday at the latest

Not today though. smax is fun but it is very competitive and not such a good way to relax. Also, i've some thinking to do in this game

          • Oh and if i ever used the term "last exam" before, in summer maybe, that wasn't actually really the last one it was only the last hard one then. i remember i used to call it the last though. i just don't remember if that was even on poly...

Even a diploma thesis thingy sounds like a lot of work

The shame-- choosing civ4 over smax-- to the punishment sphere with you -- I've never played CIV4. CIV3 actually disgusted me so I never bothered with 4 -- maybe I'll try it in a few years when it is bargain-bin and when I have a better computer

Glad to hear the exam went well and I agree that this is an important time in the game-- Add that to the fact that you seem to have more formers, crawlers and probes than anyone else by a wide margin and I imagine your turns get quite lengthy

I feel a little differently-- I find smax a great way to relax-- Compared to the real life responsibilities of my job, choosing between FM and Planned is just good frivolous fun

I want to note that i wasn't impressed with civ3 myself. I think i played no more than 10 full games. I have played tons of civ4 games in the last year.
So, i guess, basically, when you try it out, you should give it the time it might need, it is - different.

You might also want to read velocyrix' CIV review on the CIV front page, it's a good read if you like his overdramatic style. And he was a civ3 hater, too

Oh, the turn is in the making. I'll send it today

Yeah i am not very stress tolerant. I hope that will come with work.
Also, as far as smax is concerned, i lack routine...

I don't know-- I scouted your coast as you know and I saw dozens of crawlers and every base seemed to have at least two probe teams. Add that to the Drones productive capacity in the ensuing years and I am quite fearful of what you have now

                          • Yeah, but the probe teams you saw were all defensive infantry, so in a sense it was propaganda
