Good to see A.D.D. is alive and well in the 22nd century!

    On to the Cult!

Also, just a thought here on my part: I really like this game, and it is currently one of the few I am in that is still active. Is anyone interested in starting a second game with the same players? We can discuss settings, arrive at a consensus, and then go from there. Any thoughts on this?

I'm up for another game - ir's refreshing to have players that are turning so quickly - and it's not 'cos we're newbies in the first flush of enthusiasm - we're all vets who really like the game and its nuances, so there's every likelihood that we'll persevere to the (bitter?) end

Another game would be cool, although I would like to change a few settings. I think the main thing to change would be the map size, this one is simply too big! I'd also like a different faction. I can see why some people like the hive, but they really aren't my cup of tea.

Perhaps we could have a "choose each others factions" PBEM? We each get to veto 2 or 3 factions, and then the other players choose from the remaining factions which one we play?

Yeah, another games sounds good. By the time we get a CMN to set it up, GnG should be slowing down a little due to size and a new game would be perfect.

I prefer a huge map but I could live with the next smaller sized map. As in this game I'd like to limit chopper attacks on bases to two per unit per turn.

Regarding factions, I've been wondering about the idea of all human players playing the same faction. I've heard the criticism that that might make things too confusing but as Google says, we're all veterans and if any group could deal with it we could. Just a thought....

If we try it, maybe we could all list the factions that we've never played in PBEM before and choose the one most often named.

...and now I'm off to celebrate Father's Day at Mom's.

                Happy Father's day all!

Not much of a Fathers Day for me, though: the wife worked last night so she's sleeping today, and I've got the rugrats running wild around the house with a bunch of their friends. But thats what being a Dad is all about sometimes.

I started a new job today () but that does mean no more multiple turns a day from me when this game takes half an hour minimum to play for me.

However, if and when we start a new game, why the first few turns are quick and simple and so multiple turns a day should be possible.

OK, so I'm assuming you have no real input at this stage as far as our next game is concerned?

The only one who has proposed anything for basic game premise is Net Warrior, who proposes the following:

This is a different, and an interesting idea. The Factions I am really bad at (and have played very rarely in PBEM) are Morgan (PBEM'd once) and Spartan (PBEM'd once).

                          • Ignoring those despicable Aliens , my never played in a PBEM list includes: Captain Ulrik Svensgaard, Dr. Prokhor Zakharov, Sinder Roze, Col. Corazon Santiago, and Cha Dawn. Gosh, that's two hits for the Spartans and I stink to high heaven with those guys.

I've played in a couple of "forced faction" PBEM - they are fun, as you usually get a faction that you really don't excell at

I've played all 14 (plus some custom factions) in PBEMs, and I have to say that I'm worst as the Pirates

All playing the same faction sounds like it could be fun - it'd be neat if we kept strategy notes so that at game's end we could compare what each one did and why (we're never too old or jaded to learn from others) - and actually, an all-pirates game would be kind of challenging (eg, how does one manage to pop-boom, naval battlers, cruiser probes run amuck, etc etc)

The only factions I haven't played in a PBEM are the aliens, the cult and the pirates, whilst I have played the spartans and drones only once each. I believe I would absolutely suck as the pirates, so much so that I haven't played a game as them at all since SMAX first came out

To be honest, playing the pirates would end up with me getting mauled, mostly because I detest factions with -1 growth. Urgh. Not being able to pop boom, or continously grow like the hive be neither Yarrr nor woo. My money would be on Darsnan in an all pirate game.

P.S. My vote goes for Morgan. Please?
