Wasn't Humprey putting in a new hard drive or something?? I know that that can sometimes lead to computer problems since it never seems that everything reinstalls seamlessly

THanks but I already saw from the earlier posts that SebP passed that turn on the Humphrey at 23:38

That why I was hoping to see a turn last night or this morning-- but it appears he is off-line and I remembered he said something about replacing a hard drive . . . we all know thats sometimes that can cause problems or delays

Sent to Flubber. Sorry about the delay, lack of table to put my laptop on (building a computer on it) so couldn't play smac. Made a space now. I suppose I could have moved it, and put it in another room, it being a laptop and all, but I only just realised that(! maybe I am sleep deprived, I am sure I am not so thick normally). Shouldn't be any more delays.

It was no huge hurry since I can't play for a few hours yet. I can slip on to poly easy enough but downloading smax here at work would be too much

received 2103 from bluetemplar, mailed to humphrey at 8:30am (apolyton kept giving me "database maintenance" messages, which is odd, since it seems other people posted at various times today).
flubber, i noticed you changed your leader name. how do you do that?

If you go in under "network"( in the same scoll area where you can change viewing preferences and change your research goals) and "faction attributes" when in the turn you can change a whole bunch of that stuff including your factions name.

Ahh for about 4 hours this morning I kept getting a message that the forum was "offline for 5 minutes"

Since its again like 3 in the morning over there, I guess I won't see a turn until my morning

The computer kept crashing. Some problem with the onboard sound I think. I have disabled it, so hopefully it should work now (clutch desperatly at wood) and I can install and play SMAX (silently). I'll post when I've done the turn.

btw, purely hypothetically and just out of interest, how much harm do you think it would do, if someone lost their second colony pod?
