Long road PBEM II - still longer...

I have conceded victory to Hercules.
As of 2274 I have lost my 7 largest bases to the Spartans and am left with 15 bases and 200 council votes.
Sparta has 52 bases and 1598 council votes
I have 38 land, 1 naval and 5 air units, while Sparta has 111, 2 and 19 respectively
So it is evident that Hercules could win militarily, diplomatically or (probably, with patience) economically.
Good game, and well played Sparta!!!

Thanks Googlie and t_ras.
It was one very Long Road.
I am going to check back on the start of it etc and the changes in personnel.
It is nice to post a completed pbem game for a change as they have become increasingly rare things. On the ISDG 2012 team at the heart of CiviLIZation

Dacole replaced Kirov 23 June 2005
Dacole went MIA 8 May 2006
Ka Plewy replaced Dacole as Gaians 30 Aug 2006
Ka Plewy broke arm and ended 25 Mar 2007 and replaced by t_ras (see below) 26 Mar 2007.
Game history
After all factions contacted, early all human pacts arranged (Marco was a noob player as Uni, so not attacked). Spartans attack and conquer Morgan during 2004.
Gaians were dominant faction. Strong pact between Gaians and Spartans. Geomodder, replacing Marco, boosted fortunes of Uni. Snowflake left and was replaced by Smacksim who continued to boost Gaian faction.
Snow flake would pop in from time to time to see how game progressing. She last looked in 3 Jan 2006.
While pacts human pacts continued, Spartans attack Miriam.
Kirov, replacing Smacksim, continued to boost fortunes of Gaians.
Googlie replace Geomodder.
Meanwhile t_ras, having acquired MMI capabaility, started attack against Spartans.
Dacole in replacing Kirov, started to build up nerve gas x units and a PB, which prompted closer cooperation between Uni (Googlie) and Spartans. Dacole, secretly, assists t_ras.
Lucky pod pop helps Spartans build rival PB as counter to Gaian PB.
Spartans continued war on Miriam and obtained her submission during 2006. Gaians continue as leading faction, scooping important Special Projects. Ka Plewy replaced Dacole in Aug 2006.
T_ras (Hive faction) conquered 15 Dec 2006.
Spartans catch up on attack techs and eventually can no longer delay pre-emptive strike on Ka Plewy removing his PB threat and a number of SPs. Unfortunately Ka Plewy can’t play this crucial turn and is replaced by t_ras, who struggles valiantly on but succumbs in May 2007.
It then becomes a race to Transcendance, except that Googlie recognising that Spartans would likely overtake Uni in the final stages, prepares to launch surprise PB attack on Spartan homeland (and almost succeeded).
The Uni was weak at the start, but was built up by Geo and Googlie to a creditable force. Snowflake was a builder and didn’t like war. Dacole was clearly planning something and if he had continued may well have launched an early attack when he had tech superiority but he would have Spartans and Googlie as opposition. Ka Plewy too had his opportunities and could have launched before me. But he had built fewer choppers than he should have to maintain a good attack and defence capability.
I think continuity won me the game and a hesitancy in Strategy by the Gaians in the late game lost it for them.On the ISDG 2012 team at the heart of CiviLIZation
