  • Turn to the Angels.

The surviving gaians have been holed up in a single city. Their leader ,Diedre Sky, is believed to be inside as well. Total destruction of the Gaians expected next turn.

Nautilus Officals also note the strategic placement of the latest gaian colony.

    • Mmm, did the Gaians establish a colony? Or do you mean the latest Atlantean base?

O yes, since about a century the whole of Abyss Ocean and the entrance of Gaian strait are wellknown as Atlantean territorial waters, with the exception of shelf coastal waters. The Queen hopes Cpt. Sankis still realises this.

Also, a territorial claim is put on Gwynn Isle as western border of the Kingdom.

Well known? You did not have a colony in proximity to this island until the Gaian Island was captured, nor did you dispute my landmark claim, which was there for several decades, until you placed your colony.

The Nautilus Empire refuses to acknowledge this unjust claim.

The 'well known' remark refers to the Abyss Ocean and Gaian Strait landmark, not Gwynn Isle.

My base next to Gwynn Isle was established before the Pirate conquest of the Gaian Isle was established.

Your map label was void the moment the Gaians established a base between your territory and this map label, and certainly the moment my faction was able to rename this area.

Also, the Atlantean faction did not claim this particular labeled tile, but the isle next to it. We consider this sector and adjacent seatiles as a borderline similar as we established earlier regarding the Nautilus western border. Our factions do have a 'neutral' zone there which is not be settled, and such does the Atlantean Kingdom regards the Atlangnau area as well.

              **************************************************
              Gaelic Tale, MY 2208.2003

It was a sight seldom witnessed within the Kingdom, but the last
few weeks it had happened. Displaced workers assembling at
the public areas and uprising surface tower of Gaelic Tale and
              shouting their demands.
It could easily have been avoided, and appeasing their grieves
proved not to be too difficult, but nevertheless the government
decided to change the Kingdoms' economy towards a more
environmental friendly one and increased the number of empathic
councillors and economic advisors throughout the faction.
Even the core of scientists was not overseen by silent support
of the Crown in changing research prodedures to their example
              the University of Planet.

              **************************************************

Atlantean High Command wonders about the latest Nautilus tactic of leaving freshly conquered bases open to counterattacks (by the Gaians).
Is Cpt. Sankis after all perhaps not prepared to challenge the Kingdoms' territorial claims?

              • 2209 to the Pirates.

A horribly commanded aerial assault on Vale of Winds caused 4 University aircraft to be lost in the conflict. One aircraft even crashed before reaching the Gaian base.

For the first time since Planetfall, Brother Lal seems to have regained his sanity. The University is proud to announce the first Treaty of Friendship with the Peacekeepers. The strive for peace on Chiron seems one step closer to fulfillment!

Finally, the Planetary Governor carefully monitors the escalating conflict between the Nautilus Empire and the Atlantean Kingdom.

                  ===========================================

The last bastion of the Gaian resistance fell today by the Nautilus 129th Rover Squadron. Light casualties were taken on the side of the Empire. Hiding inside a civilian home was Lady Deidre Sky, former leader of the Gaian Resistance. She has been taken in for questioning.

At home, Civilians everywhere celebrate the war's end. Chairman Yang of the Hive spoke with Captain Sankis earlier today to congratulate him in his defeat over the Gaian scourge.

In other news the Nautilus QRU has been retired. All those that served in the QRU have been awarded medals of valor.

Several atlantean probe units have been spotted on the "Atlantean/Nautlius border" as well as the Gaian Coast. Captain Sankis wishes the Atlanteans to know that if any such unit enters Nautilus Terrority it will be destroyed.

                  • Out of curiosity, did the Gaians take Garden of the Deep before you took the last Gaian landbase, Sankis?

I saw they had the possibility before your turn came, since there was a Gaian IoD near that seabase.

I'm asking this question to have a better understanding of how the AI reacts.

                    On topic:

Dear Governor, a conflict indicates violent actions between our factions, something that has not occured yet till this very day as far as Atlantis is aware of.

Further more, the Queen wishes to point out to the Planetary Governor that it was never the Atlanteans which posted threads of utter destruction towards other factions, not even in the bleakest days of the Hive-Angel war. Cpt. Sankis on the other hand seems to response to the Kingdoms' rightfull naval movements within their own territory with undisguised suspicion and fear.

The psychological profile of the Captain indicates that he had followed this pattern of challenge and threats prior to the escalation of the Gaian-Nautilus war. It was confirmed that a probe action ordered by the Captain started the war, not agression on the side of the Gaians. Will the Governor silently assist the Empire again in such a provocation?

Nope, actually It didn't. The city was empty, and remained untouched. I ended up killing the IOD, which is why you'll see a nearly destroyed jet on your border.

                      • OOC here... I would like to ask everybody to think on the following issue:

I feel that it should be prohibited for a human player to 'force' a truce or whatever between two warring factions (AI vs human). Exceptations would be if the warring human player asked for such assistance.

                        Are we in agreement?

Ah, that's why you are so worried about my fleet strength on the border... You spotted one and decided to check out where-ever you could.

I am strongly against such prohibitions.

I have only asked Lal to sign a truce with Yang and I wouldn't try to force a truce between the AI and a human player unless the human player concurs... at least considering the situation in the game currently.

So, Barinthus, you should fear nothing from the University regarding the "truce" issue--unless the planetary situation changes drastically.
