Why are my farmed moist squares only giving 1 nutrient?

When crawling a square, you can only get one of the 3 resource types; not so bad for a square outside a city's radius which would otherwise be producing nothing, but you could be losing out on some resources that you would have been getting for the square had you had city workers working it.
    I tend to crawl every squares that only produce one type of rescource independent on if it is inside or outside the base radius. I generally do not place my bases so far from each other that I have large amount of squares under my control which isn't inside a base radius.
    So I crawl:
    * mines
    * Farm + condesors

    EDIT:
    The reason for this is that if I Crawl a resource I do not need to spend a worker on that square, giving me the possibility to either work another square OR go with a specialist. For Yang a good crawl strategy could easily push you past Morgan or Zak in the tech race.

    What do I care about your suffering? Pain, even agony, is no more than information before the senses, data fed to the computer of the mind. The lesson is simple: you have received the information, now act on it. Take control of the input and you shall become master of the output.

      Some rocky squares might get mines initially. But ultimately, I'm looking to put as many boreholes (6 mins + 6 energy >> 4 mins) as possible (though probably without a lot of lowering terrain) and farms/condensers in other squares. So some of those boreholes won't be on rocky.

      You can only get 2 nutrients out of them, maybe 1 or 2 minerals, and 1 or 2 solar. Pretty lame.
      Early production is pretty lame. But you might need that 2-1-1 square if the best you have is 1-1-0. And forests will give a square an extra mineral.

      I'm definitely using crawlers in a city radius. Early on, you don't have the pop to work all the squares, so I crawl mins from forests for extra production. If you have a min bonus on rocky, that's a target for crawling, too. If I didn't forest a flat square, then, if moist or rainy, it gets a farm (later a condenser), and I crawl food. As waab said, it frees up pop for specialists.

      Of course, I'm also crawling outside city radii. Some mins, but mostly food.
