Hmm, then perhaps it should also be possible to give artillery to air units. I tried that a couple years ago by adding a basic unit, but it didn't work.

Maybe it conflicts with the "Bomb" command?

Anyways, has anyone done work/ experimentation with the Gravship chassis at all? If so I'd like to hear it, before I get started experimenting. The first thing I'm gonna try is giving a unit the "Combat" status, to see if I can make this unit more aggressive in the hands of the AI. I'm probably also gonna decrease the movement as IMO its way overpowered currently.

I agree with you there, for me games have become a race to the gravship capability, once there, I over-run planet if I didn\'t already.

Try running a game with gravships moving only 4 or 5 squares per turn, that should set \'em straight.

Is thie against the AI since I believe most players find that its a race to choppers and drop ability. Locusts can help fulfill the need to capture bases that you cannot initially drop into.

Yes, against the AI. I am too lazy to do anything else but click and drag, and drop pods won't go very far without the space elevator. And isn't it against Some PBEM rules to attack bases with choppers? maybe thats ACDG.

SUCCESS! the impact arty probe now functions as a probe team, with the ability to launch conventional barrages, and the ability to defend against enemy barrages!

I can't tell you how well this new unit fits in with my plans for my next SP Challenge - really fills a gaping hole that I was having problems covering! Oh this is gonna be so good!

On a sidenote heres a pic that'll get you all thinking about what I'm up to: how can only one player vote for Governor (which is for himself), and yet still lose the election? Bwahahahahaha!!!!!

Easy: either Yang has no bases (as in the nomad challenge) or you've granted him VOTES, 0 in hive.txt.

Good guesses, but you are wrong in both accounts! Yang has bases and Yang's votes count!
