Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
Aye we shall have no part with the heretics of the great schism of 2009!
Modern man calls walking more quickly in the same direction down the same road “change.”
The world, in the last three hundred years, has not changed except in that sense.
The simple suggestion of a true change scandalizes and terrifies modern man. -Nicolás Gómez Dávila
Yes! This is precisely what I would have done. Take a market already saturated with two sites and add a third! And do it in a lull where there's no new Civ games on the horizon!
As much as I hate to agree with Asher he has a point. What exactly is the point of this new site?
What's with this schism. Did someone capture Apolyton's capital?
If I had to make a guess I would say the one man barbarian army that is Asher or so it would seem to a non-initiate. Also this affirms a thesis held by many that the OT is infact the Capital of Apolyton.

Make no mistake I wish the new site well and will probably register I am just pointing out that we have a finite (and some would point out shrinking) number of posters interested in civlization.

Does anyone really think it's a good idea to take the worst mods from the second-most popular Civ site and start another Civ site with this human refuse in charge?
KH FOR OWNER! ASHER FOR CEO!! GUYNEMER FOR OT MOD!!!
Sorry, an email problem occurred for us last evening GMT and several of the latest registered users were unable to get their registrations emails. I've activated those accounts, including yours, Lancer. I hope to fix the email issue later today.

This is certainly interesting. I'll keep an eye on this. I hope you guys don't disappear from Apolyton, though.
I can only speak for myself (though I'm pretty sure Dale and Solver feel the same way), but all I care about is good Civ content and community. If Apolyton can continue to offer that, you will be able find me here for years and years to come...
And we'll even be pimping cool Poly stuff on our site. We don't believe in site rivalry -- we believe that if you love Civ, you won't care too much about what URL you happen to be visiting; all that should matter is whether the site has compelling content or not. There's no reason that can't be the case for more than 2 sites on the web (in fact, more people here ought to be checking out places like Realm's Beyond and the CivPlayers League, they've been doing awesome stuff for years that people here are barely aware of).

Three words: community, community, community (yes, I know that's one word three times ). Dale, Solver and I are not going to be calling the shots from high up in an ivory tower and behind closed doors, we will try to involve our community in every decision we make and have them help us build and shape the site every step of the way. We also want to provide the community with all the tools that they need to create, share, discuss, compete, etc; for example, in our opinion it's still far too hard for modders and artists to build, host and promote their content online, so we'll be focusing a lot on giving them more and easier-to-use tools for doing so. Additionally, we'll be trying to reach out to every Civ community on the web, promoting their content and building friendships between them -- not just with Poly and CFC but also 2K, RB, C4P, civilized.de, civ.org.pl, civfanatics.ru, etc, etc. We believe Civ fandom is all about community, and that the Civ community extends far beyond the domains of Apolyton.
One unrequested piece of advice - the three of you will have to be much better at managing the comms side than you have been in the past. It's a strong technical line-up but I hope you realise that's not enough.
Huh, only now I've lost my admin title I noticed that I'm a Deity, when did that happen?

I've just opened it up now. You're doing ok for the moment but you have to keep it up. After reflection I have decided that I will voluntarily play the same role keeping the administration honest that I have played here. And for free too. You can't say fairer than that.
We're doing what we can. The site is quite barebones but we're trying to add things quickly in these first days. Say, we launched without a file database at all but we do have one up by now and it should be looking at least half decent by tonight. At the moment we know what we want to do, we just can't manage everything simultaneously, so are taking it one piece at a time.
