Is it possible that someone in Boris' household (or 'friend') blocked Poly from Boris' computer via "parental controls" or firewall as a "dirty trick"? I can imagine that a friend jealous of time taken on Poly might do such a thing if they knew how to do it.

First off, pardon the delayed follow-up (re: holiday hustle and bustle) on developments on this matter. ThePlanet's reply from a technician on December 11th:

I have emailed Comcast and they have ran some tests on their end. To better assist in this situation they have asked that the customer provide additional information.

Here is what the Comcast rep has indicated what they need so that they can further diagnose the problem (with related links inserted by myself), as relayed by ThePlanet on December 17th:

Here is another test from our engineering department.

I am unable to ping that customer's IP from the CMTS they reside on, a better test would be to have the provider trace to the customer's scope [gateway] IP - [IP #]
