I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.

Thanks again for the latest suggestions. I may have some specific follow-up for one or more of them in the future (PolyCast's anyway).

oh be careful there! Maki and i are both do crafting-type things and might start to ramble about non-Civ related stuff and bore y'all to tears

i do not plan to provide any picture evidence about whether i'm pretty or not. if Polycast was a webcast i wouldn't have agreed to do it. we tape it pretty early most weeks; sometimes i'm sitting in boring, 100% non-sexy pajamas! i certainly hope this does not crush your hopes and dreams and discourage you from listening at all. i also hope this doesn't encourage you to hunt me down and shoot me with bullets.

Artillery, more use for it. Especially defensively.

That is not within the scope of either show.

There might be an angle or two you could take on it that it could then apply to one or both shows, but you'd have to spell that out specifically for consideration.

How about a civving refinement on that; one that will potentially be quite relevant to me:
A discussion of Civ4 performance when played under Windows OS on an aluminum iMac.*

Why? Because I have dreams of getting one of those in mid-year, installing Windows & Civ4 on a partition, and retiring my PC.

                  * The one I'm looking at is 2.4GH, ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO with 256MB of GDDR3 memory, with 3-4 GB RAM.

A stumbling block is that no one on the regular PC panel owns an iMac. We have had a couple of guest hosts, "DanT" and very recently Michael "emeseles" Lucas-Smith, who use Mac OS X but short of being able to secure one or both of them any such discussion would probably be lacking what you're looking for.

I knew it was improbable, Dan. But you have given me hope, it's not impossible. And my worst fear was not realized: that you would suggest that I do the testing!

-- if you had said you had already had the system, I would have.

Still , if you buy the system and try CivIV's performance out yourself, call in a review.

Pardon? PolyCast and ModCast are bi-weekly and are released on alternating weeks; therefore, you get a ~45 minute podcast every week on Civ be it strategy or modding-centred.

PolyCast is weekly in that you are to hear either a new PolyCast or ModCast episode in a given week -- both shows are under the PolyCast banner. Having the two shows with the different panels allows us to release a new Civ-centred podcast every week.
