Right or wrong, rules or no rules, it remains a fact that Apolyton is poorer without Asher, just like it is poorer without so many others gone either at their free will or banned too.

Asher is without doubt an ass, but a funny one, so I'm inclined to pardon him again and again, because I can laugh at him much more than I'm annoyed about him. If others can't take his bloated ego, they are, well, free to ignore him. There are others at this site that annoy me much more without being funny. Additionally, sometimes Asher's telling loud what others think but don't say out of PC issues, like TCO and KH do too at times.

I'm not much in Civ mood since quite a while and I come to Apolyton mostly just for a laugh. Sadly for that there's less and less opportunity.

Unfotunately... the asses who are funny also drive away members of the community that are actually active in the games this site is all about. It's not funny when people continue to attack other posters just for the heck of it.

Asher's not that funny. And neither are some of the other attention whores that just post to stroke their egos and put other people down. I think it's about time that the admins are doing something about it actually. People ask why the OT (and Poly as a whole) has gone downhill these last few years. Well, firstly I don't agree that Poly is more boring now than when I joined. But one reason to why the OT's gone stale is that those who frequent it is those that have been here for a lot of of years and have become a tight crowd over the years. And it's very hard to get in if you're a n00b. I'm also amazed b etor stayed on considering the amount of abuse she had to take when she joined. Have you been here a while you know that it's not that serious, But still. It scares people away I think.

This is not a selective club for OT'ers.

It is a Privately owned site for the public to frequent, peruse and partake should they choose

We could have a lots more people if everyone had a fair chance to feel welcomed.

I wont say we need a warm and fuzzy feel like what Zopperoni pointed out he was against, but wealso dont need a constinued blatant attack upon persons.

Posters make mistakes and even the Admin makes mistakes, but one mistake that is being rectified is a license to thrill, at the cost of participation by the masses of as yet to be known individuals.

No one says you Wiglaf have to get along with anyone, but you will and must adhere to site rules governing fair play.

This goes for everyone. It is certainly not hard to fathom, dont be rude or offensive to people. Dissagreeing is one thing, slapping someone for their heritage or beliefs is quite another.

Heck even I have opinions and they dont necessarily agree with the site administration, no, and it is my choice to stay or go.

I do so willingly stay and try to offer a voice of reason in situations. I dont hate anyone here, no not a single person. I dont like how many people act sometimes but I understand


Think of all the energies in last few days that have been expended over Asher.

Now what if those same energies (including Asher's activities themselves) were used to help generate positive image promotion and help bring forth more traffic here and thus a new influx of participation?

Just think about it I ask you sir.

Can't be said enough. I'm thankful AAHZ and b etor and Will 9 have stayed around over the past year. They are entertaining in their own way. But if a bunch of people joined ply and tried to take over the entire OT atmosphere would just disappear.
