and with these kind of rules you end up with 3/4 of the threads in the first page having meaningfull titles as "blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah"

All the oldtimers here regularly do the DL dance on Settlers and generally treat them in an unwelcoming, asinine way. Do any of them get so much as a warning? How many new posters never become members of this community because of that?

Asher's a dick. And he's a public dick. But there are other dicks, too.

There are several well known posters which take that exact same approach yet nothing EVER happens to them. You can even send PMs to the mods pointing out the violations and they just ignore you or tell you to mind your own business even when you are the one being subjected to the personal attacks.

This place just isn't fun any more and this truth is reflected by the fact that the posts per day has declined year over year for the last couple of years. It's virtually a ghost town and that the mods hypocritically refuse to admit any bias or inconsistently just makes me think that things won't improve. I hope they do but I'm not optimistic.

My conscience on that particular matter is clean, at least. I have warned and even banned people for treating new posters in an unwelcoming manner. Of course, that was only in the on-topic areas, and it's of no help for the OTF.

I don't come round here much anymore, and over-moderation plays a big part in that. Asher is a dickhead, but makes the site more amusing than it otherwise is without him.
