Asher is banned

Okay, fine; I just wasn't aware that was a specified rule, and I wanted clarification. I'm don't think I agree with it, as a hard and fast rule, but it certainly seems like he was aware of it.

However, hasn't this whole situation gotten a little out of hand? Losing respected members of the community over this seems silly.

To be fair, there are public warnings all the time: "Discuss the topic, not each other," and whatnot. They're not very poster-specific, however. Perhaps what you are asking for is a public statement: "Slowwhand," (totally random choice, I assure everyone) "one more post like this and you will be restricted until the Rangers win the World Series," or something along those lines.

If Asher was banned for posting PM's, then there's no reason for you to keep on your discussion of him and his character, because it seems that the issue was taken care of.

Heck, I have people who I dislike on this site, and I sometimes wish to be banned. I do not, however, make an issue of stalking them back, and applauding every moderator decision regading them.

Your increased appearance in this thread communicates a whole deal of gloating now that justice has been served in your opinion. I don't know if it's real or just a failure to communicate, but it does not add respect to your persona. And you know that you're a respected poster in my mind, and I have no reason to be biased against you.

I have defended the mods where I believe them to be correct, or the attacks on them to make no sense.

I entered the thread, because my own posts were being categorized, incorrectly as I believe. I did not feel that I had to confine myself to that however.

Potential new posters drawn away by the atmosphere/insults are an even subtler thing. Look at the OTF. How many regular posters do you see that registered recently, say, this year? Granted, we can never know how many people were scared away. But I do know for a fact some were. She was taunted, abused, called a whore and what not by some posters. I'm not talking about the silly "FBI agent" jokes. She was really called a whore, or told that she's a nimphomaniac.

That thread got absolutely zilch moderator response, as far as I recall.

There's a good reason why gloating is considered a sort of sin. It makes you look bad too.

You're sort of falling into Asher's trap, and people who were previously convinced of his accusations against you are only being more convinced by your posts.
