It IS just for the OTF. Otherwise it would take the organiser(s) of DGs many, many days to get all the setup etc polls up.

Seems reasonable to me, that rule. Stops someone spamming the forum with mindless new threads too much.

The two thread limit is only in the OTF.
However, if somebody spams the on topic forums with tons of meaningless threads, then they will get restricted

This is one rule that ISN'T going to change.

Why not? As I said, let a thread stand on its own merits...

PH, because that is what has been deemed appropriate at the current time. I assure you, all admin are aware of you passion for this and will keep you in mind for future.

Thanks and on with the show

Then we would have a bunch of whiney PM's about how such and such a spam thread had merit. When we were discussing the original rule, we determinded that just limiting it two threads was the best way to stop somebody from creating a lot of threads, most of which were spam.

So while you are welcome to your opinion, the rule isn't going to change. It's much easier this way, and we don't have to get in a fight with people about the value of "their threads".

In all fairness, though. It was GT who resurrected the thread...not PH

Why don't you create a script that will automatically prevent someone from starting more than two threads in OT per day, as long as this won't slow down the server noticeably?

See that's more like it - a logical reason. I can live with those!

You don't have to get into a fight with people about the value of threads if they create more than two, either, you nark.
