Vince, the Dacian scenario only runs with the original game.

If you have 2 identical AOM games, it means you have accidentally copied a gamefile.txt file into ctp2-data/default/gamedate twice.

      Hi all,

I installed the game and it looks OK expect for the fact my screen always flickers. Seems trivial but it is impossible to play like that.. Anyone has had the same exprience?

That's entirely possible. I had some trouble loading everything. If both are identical then I guess it doesn't matter which one I start. I'm still playing through my first full campaign and everything seems to be going well so far. One difference I've noticed is that the barbarians are more annoying than usual.

I saw something like that at first but it cleared up after a few restarts. It also helped me to remove as many memory resident programs as possible and to turn the sound off. Might need to try a lower screen resolution as well.

Indeed when I restarted after while it was no longer flickering...very weird...oh well it works now and that's the most important

I'm not sure if this is a bug or a feature: Whenever I rightclick on my capital to get the menu list I also get a pop-up that asks me if I want to check my score. That gets very annoying after a while because I rarely check it.

I've also noticed that the "auto-center" for selected units doesn't seem to work most of the time. It only seems to work if the unit is off of the screen currently displayed.

Thats all I can remember now, no serious problems yet. I'm up to 1500BC in my current game and I seem to be keeping up with the others so far.

For the immediate future, please refer help questions to this forum:

I expect to move the whole AOM website to Apolyton within 1-2 months.

Auto centring on units does not work all the time in CTP2 or any mods, it is a design issue.

The capital double message is unfortunate but unavoidable. It was hoped to remove it with a new button but it was found that we could not activate the score check from a message activated by one of the new buttons in the bottom control panel. There were originally another 4 similar messages that were brought up when you clicked on something else. We were able to eliminate those by using the four new buttons.

I agree it is annoying, but if you click on your number 2 city then bit the back arrow in the bottom control panel, you will not get the messsage.

I just remembered another thing I noticed. I've been hit by a couple of plagues already and they throw x number of cities in unrest. I first tried to adjust the happiness globally but the numbers in each city did not move. However, if I go into each city and adjust their happiness individually it works. Not sure if this is a bug or if its the way plagues are supposed to work.

It was not a deliberate effect of the plagues, no. But I think if there is a bug, it is in the way the SLIC happiness functions are implemented, rather than the way they are used. Maybe Activision wanted it that way, or perhaps it was overlooked.

you should name this mod World At War, not Ages Of Man.
it would reflect much better, what you have done to Ctp2

                        :-/

Or even some name which isn't already a mod by Dale...

like, mayhem and massacre would sound good :]

I never though I will play CTP2 game that feels like a quake deathmatch.

Ok, I've installed CtP and the patch.
Now I try to start the game, and it comes with this error (see screenshot)

Is this a known issue? What can I do about it?
