How large is the number of very frequent posters? (at least once a day)

        Less than 1000, IIRC.

Sounds like a good option for those who don't post frequently.

But, as others have said, you may not reach your target audience easily, much less in here.

There are better ways to market segment.

Give me a free PLUS membership and I will tell you what they are.

As a member who almost exclusively posts in the OTF, I think this would be an excellent idea.

EDIT: Ugh. Then I think it's a stupid idea. ;-/

I think everyone who posts mostly in OT should get PLUS for free.

Well, I might be about as interested in this as in the other ones, depending on what the rates will be... But I don't expect to subscribe anytime soon...

I guess the rates could be somewhere in the vicinity of this:

                          $25 for 500 posts (= $0.05 per post)
If you have less than ~0.986 PPD, you'll be cheaper off than with a yearly subscription of $18.

                          $40 for 1000 posts (= $0.04 per post)
In this case, less than ~1.233 PPD would make it cheaper than a yearly subscription.

$25 for 500 posts?! It's only $18 for a YEAR, and I post way more than 500 posts a year

I don't think you can expect anything cheaper than $18 a year. For the die-hard lurkers, 500 posts could last them years.

My PPD is almost exactly 1, for instance (though, realistically, it's a bit higher, since I wasn't here from the very beginning, and I mostly lurked (even more) the first few years).

I paid for PLUS w/out any need of a discount because I lurk more than I post.
I don't see the incentive. I'd be less inclined to post if it cost me more.
