@CyberShy: I think that question can only be answered by experiment!
Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?

Who can tell? If they can make a sequel after crappy Civ 3 they can make sequel to SMAC 2 eventually.

He'll most probably give me a 95%pcr and a permaban or something, and enjoy being on the #1 spot after that, drinking beer on me for the rest of his life.

Any game that get out alpha-testing will be hailed as "groundbreaking".

                        • frankly, I doubt that SMAC2 would bring many people to the site... GalCiv and MOO III only brought nominal numbers.

                          Civ IV however... ... ...

                          • Civ 3 would have brought most of the Civ-type players here already, so only some of the people new to the genre would be here due to Civ 4. Many of the people new to the genre would find their way here due to the amount of Civ material we have on the site.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

                            • well, regardless- Civ IV would bring more posting than SMAC II- as was shown with Locutus' list of registrations. and as was noticed by the SMAC-posters in 1999 in comparison with the # of postings in the civ-sections in less time than that.

                                Can't remember that.

Civ4 will bring people back to the forum who abandoned it, they'll most probably even register a new nickname since they forgot about their old one

Another option is of course a merge with cfc
