I am ok with those as well. But I always thought that 3 was too high for INT. It's not always the fault of the QB. Many times it is tipped. I would prefer 2 for that, certainly not 4!

Your questions about INTs also counting as Passes Defended and Sacks also counting as Tackles for Loss (or, for that matter, TFLs also counting as tackles) are not options the commish gets to choose. But INTs definitely do not count as a Pass Defended. We've seen that for years.Originally posted by Berzerker View Post2 pd, 1 tl, 3 ff, 2 fr or 3 for both sounds good
do ints count as pds and sacks as tackles for loss?
if ints get 1+ for pd then that's 4 while a ff or fr is 2, so I can see bumping them to 3 or 3 and 2
Tackles For Loss should result in, essentially +1 for Solo Tackle and another +1 for being behind the line of scrimmage. Frankly, I'd be shocked if Yahoo also uses it to further pad Sacks. But as I said, it's just a category on a page in the Commissioner's Tools; no full description. If we add it, it is what it is.
Also, a note: Several years back, we increased the values of INTs from 2 to 3, and increased fumble scoring by adding Fumble Recovered to Forced Fumble. IMHO that's been working fine. I see no actual reason to further inflate turnovers.Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011

OK, sorry guys, I've been travelling. Here's your update:
Changes to settings, based on everyone's input:
-Adding Tackle For Loss (TFL) to Defense scoring (+1 pt)
-Changing Pass Defended (PD) from +1 to +2
Draft Day: Starts 8am CDT this Thursday, 8/13.
Draft order: We will do that Wednesday night via the usual randomization method.
I will also post the official rules and draft threads Wednesday evening.Last edited by -Jrabbit; August 10, 2026, 18:15.Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011

Seems in standard Yahoo idp leagues an int gets additional pts as a pd, so if an int is 3 it'll become 5 if we bump pd to 2. Thats excessive considering a FF is only 2. If anything int should be 2 since it becomes 3 anyway with a 1 pt pd.
same thing with tackle for loss, while it counts for all tackles it does add +1 to a sack. So if we overvalue ints and sacks adding or boosting pds and tackles for loss will further imbalance the stats. Yahoo bases a lot of their stats on how the NFL does it, so the NFL says a sack or int is also a tackle for loss and pd so Yahoo does it that way.
if a sack is 2 it'll be 3 automatically - more than a FF. Maybe peuw is right

I asked grok at X but I'm getting a different response with this question:
do Yahoo fantasy football stats award a pd automatically to an int and does a tackle for a loss add to a sack?
yes int's get credit for pds if pd is a category
no tackles for loss do not add to sacks but sacks do get credit for tackles and ass tackles
that's good, sounds like a tackle for a loss wont make sacks more valuable but pds do add to ints

Based on Berz and Grok, we can accomplish the same thing by just leaving both INT and PD the way they are.
Therefore I suggest we leave PD at +1 and INT at +3 (last year's settings), since an INT is a turnover and a PD is essentially just an incomplete pass.

As for Tackle For Loss, I propose we add it, but award only +0.5 (in addition to the 1pt for a tackle). So tackling a RB for a loss of a yard or so would not double the value of a tackle.
Everyone OK with that?Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011
