What the USGA's rules officials have done to Dustin Johnson today is borderline criminal.
The possible infraction happened on the 5th hole, with no penalty called.
Then they confront Johnson on the 12th and tell him that after video review, there may be a penalty.
At that point, they ask his version of events, and he says he feels sure that he did not cause the ball to move.
...and they tell him they won't decide until after his round!
So he has to play the final 6 holes of a major, atop the leader board, but with that penalty hanging over his head.
