    Tim Tebow

Tebow's days as a starting quarterback are on life support, but his NFL story might not be over. Not if one of the NFL's more creative teams can find a way to use his gifts. The Jets were a disastrous match from the start. Their inability to make use of Tebow was astounding. While the league's visionaries voyaged into a read-option wonderland, the Jets were left twiddling their thumbs trying to figure out the Wildcat.

Bill Belichick should know what to do with Mr. Tebow.

    Destination: New England Patriots
NFL teams still hunting for a quarterback for the 2013 season have some interesting options. Marc Sessler breaks down the futures of everyone from Carson Palmer to Tim Tebow.

I found this opinion fascinating. I think he makes a good point.

Well, looks like the Falcons found a suitable replacement for John Abraham:

The Atlanta Falcons have signed free-agent defensive end Osi Umenyiora, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

      Welcome Osi Umenyiora!

Good. Maybe they'll have more than 12k to spend now.

High guarantee, relatively low overall salary. Actually sounds about right for him - not in the elite $20MM+ class of quarterbacks, like Joe Flacco , but a lot more guaranteed money so when Dallas ends up asking him to restructure-or-cut in 3 years, he's safe.

From what I've seen, Jerry Jones is catching alot of flack for this, but I like it and I like it alot. Remember how I said I like the illusion of team loyalty? This is loyalty of the part of an owner. Thumbs up to Jerry Jones for showing loyalty to a player!

I thought when Al left, that would be the end of the retarded Romo remarks. Obviously, I was incorrect.

I, for one, think that Romo remarkably generous. How many qbs would put up with Jerry Jones at all, let alone for 6 more years?

Romo's situation isn't that different from Cutler's -- clearly not a top-5, get-you-a-ring QB, and choking in big games is far too common. But what's the alternative? Rebuilding?

I think Romo is a pretty good QB who's not quite top 5. He's no worse than Flacco, albeit slightly different. I don't know about "choking", but he certainly is a bit too likely to throw picks (though how much of that is the situations he's placed in?). I think he could've gotten $20MM/year on the open market, but getting the high guarantee ($55MM is a lot up front) is probably good enough to make up for that. I think it's a good signing for both sides. Jerry gets to build a team with only a $16MM per cap hit, and Romo gets plenty of money up front to ensure he's safe from any decline or injury. He's young enough he could still have one more contract left, also, so if this works out well, and he turns out to be better than he currently is, in 3-4 years he'd be up for another extension.

There is nothing ignorant in pointing out he isnt a top 10 QB by many metrics. Least of which is his feeble snap holding abilities.

He's a top ten QB by Football Outsiders' metrics, year in and year out, which is good enough for me. I agree with Aaron et al, Romo is underrated for some reason (presumably a combination of cowboys hate, and a few big mistakes on national TV; other QBs have their issues on nice quiet Sunday 1:00PM games.) He's not Brady or (either) Manning, but he's very solidly in the next tier, and a better QB than Flacco (not a better game manager, but a better actual QB for a team that expects its QB to win games for it).

I'd take Flacco and Eli over him. He rolls crit fails with abandon.
