You're hilarious. Since you won't answer that others knew you want the thread closed.

This. Everyone involved should be ashamed and Paterno should step down at the end of the season. Clean house.

I'm sure more than those four were involved. While these may be the only scapegoats, I hope others are ferreted out.

And I'm surprised they let Joe last to the end of the season. I guess if he stepped down earlier there might have been talk of vacating some of the victories that would cost Joe his spot in the record books.

His contract was up anyway. I won't be surprised if he gets charged down the line.

Initially the DA said that by reporting what he was told that he had fulfilled his legal obligation. We'll see if that stays the same. I have a sneaking suspicion that it will stay.

I think the scapegoats have already been place on the alter.

I agree totally with RAH. The person who saw it should have acted immediately by pulling him off the kid. Also, Joe Paterno and everyone else should be gone now and they should be banned from playing any more games. That might hurt some of the athletes who knew nothing about it, but people up the line certainly did and should have acted immediately. SHAME ON ALL OF THEM!!!

Well, now that Joe is toast, how about the championship trophy. It hasn't even been given out yet and it better be renamed. Bo is looking good.

Probably should've been the Schembechler-Hayes trophy to being with.

Related to this, 2002 was the height of the pedophilia scandals in the Catholic Church. Since they had so much notice that pedophilia was viewed as a big deal by everybody, I'm mystified as to why Penn State didn't treat the report from the assistant with a great deal of urgency.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

One theory is that the PSU officials knew of more allegations against Sandusky from previous years that they failed to report, so they were afraid an investigation would bring that fact to light and land the university in hot water. Complete speculation, of course.

Probably similar to the catholic church. They thought it looked so terrible already that a cover-up was worth the risk. They did keep it hidden for quite a while. And like the church they found out that it looks worse once if finally did come out, since they covered it up.
