  • Lockout lifted

It's pretty much all over for the owners. Judge Nelson won't grant a stay, and if the appelate court doesn't do it instead, then it's either deal to the players' liking or open the books. (And I think it's highly unlikely a stay will be granted because the players pretty much have the case on the merits.)

        2010: 86 catches 1,014 yards

        Suck it, Ben.

Not going to get 1000 yards, you said? I win.

        • Oh and on top of that, Ben.... There was someone whom I told you wouldn't get 1000 yards and you said he would get at least that...

          LaDainian Tomlinson: 914 yards

Suck it. I won that bet, as well.

And since we're on the topic of bets, Slowwhand, remember our bet that the Green Bay Packers would have a better end of season record than the Dallas Cowboys? Won that plus a GB Super Bowl victory added some icing on my victorious wager.

And our Sanchez v. Stafford bet is still pending. Sanchez will make the Pro Bowl by the end of the 2012 season. Stafford will not and will be riding pine.

          • New Buffalo Bills uniforms accidently revealed by Madden teaser video!

Back in February the Buffalo Bills announced they would be debuting new uniforms for the 2011 season. The official reveal of the design has yet to be made and is being held for a “fan appreciation event” later in the year. One of the Madden NFL 12 teaser videos however appears to have provided a glimpse at them early.

Really strange mix of the Jim Kelly-era and really back in the day uniforms. The white helmets are like the real old ones but with the newer logo, the jerseys are reminiscent of the Jim Kelly-era.

Scratch that... looks pretty similar to the late 70's, early 80's Bills:

            • Funnily enough, this isn't the first time Madden (the game, not John) screwed up a team's uniform debut:

Two years ago the Seahawks alternate neon green jerseys were first seen in an off-screen video of Madden 10 but having not been officially announced they were subsequently pulled from the game by release only to be reintroduced in a patch later. What makes this reveal of uniforms surprising is that the video is an official trailer from EA Sports that was approved by marketing and likely the NFL as well prior to the Bills’ first introducing them.

Still a hell of a lot better than you predicted.

Yes, you won. Had the roles been reversed and Rogers got hurt early, I would have won. It's kind of chicken**** to claim victory under those circumstances.

Ehh... Rodgers DID get hurt. And Matt Flynn (hey, Tyler, Texas boy, Sloww!) looked pretty damn good and the Eagles and Giants were the clear top-dogs in the division even with a healthy Romo. Cowboys were looking at 9-7 at best. Romo would have given them 3 more wins... seriously. With Romo, Dallas would have beat Jacksonville and Arizona... maybe beat the Saints on Thanksgiving but Kitna had a great day that day and I don't think Romo really would've done much better. Or maybe instead beat the Eagles instead of losing 30-27... I'm thinking 9-7.

Let's not forget your Cowgirls were 1-4 when Romo went down Even with Romo, they were 1-4!

Not only that but 1-4 (soon to be 1-5 with the loss to the G-men) against these illustrious teams:
Washington, Chicago (when they weren't looking too hot), Houston (only Dallas win), Tennessee, Minnesota

Scratch that. They probably would've had a WORSE record with Romo.

                  Riding pine? Are you drunk?
Yes. Riding pine... I'm only a little hesitant to say it because I would suspect he will get injured next year and miss half the season then get injured again in 2012... and the Lions will have an attitude of we need to see this guy healthy before demoting him and drafting a new QB.

                  • Your attitude about Romo depends on the point that you think you're trying to make. Romo led the NFC in passer rating when he went down. I'm not going to resurrect this crap with you.

What matters more? Passer rating or wins? Romo lost to crappy teams.

But that's my point. It wasn't Romo. Romo being healthy wouldn't have made a difference. Having a terrible coach (Wade Philips), blah RB's, a shady defense, etc. all contributed.

The Cowboys would have lost in spite of Romo's heroics.

I think having Kitna in there (and Philips getting fired) forced Jason Garrett to get back to basics and that helped the Cowgirls pull off some wins. But Romo being in there... eh... I don't see it making much difference. 9-7 at best.

Look at the 2010 Dallas schedule. Can you honestly say the Cowboys would have won any more games than what I mentioned? JAX and AZ would probably have been wins. Maybe NO (but that's shady, as I pointed out, since Kitna played his ass off and Dallas still lost)... or maybe Philly... every other game... nah.

                      • Alby's blind spot WRT the Sanchize is rivalled only by the hater complex he has for Stafford.

IMHO, Sanchez is a decent QB who will only get into a Pro Bowl in the next two years if the more legitimate AFC selections (PManning, Brady, Rivers) either get hurt, withdraw, or are busy going to the Super Bowl. (Not to mention Big Ben, Flacco, Schaub, etc.) The AFC is deep at QB.

I'm really hopeful that the Lions will draft a legit left tackle Thursday so that we can see what Stafford can do when allowed to play from a standing position.

Nah... they're going defense. They've devoted so many picks the last few years on offense and that defense needs help. Who plays CB or OLB for the Lions? I don't even know.
