"Protecting yourself"??How'd that work out for Plaxico?
Nothing wrong with owning a gun.
But illegally carrying is unnecessary and stupid.
And shooting yourself is monumentally idiotic.
Let your posse do that ****.Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011

Those things, plus having millions of dollars and still doing those things.Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

Call Plax stupid... but he did nothing malicious and only harmed himself. I wouldn't put this in the same category of 'bad boy' behavior as some stuff other people have done.
Anyway I found this...
Database with all reported NFL arrests since 2000.
Just since the start of 2011

I wish I could be a slave like Adrain...
The NFL labor situation is "modern-day slavery," according to Minnesota Vikings star Adrian Peterson.
The running back's explosive comments were quoted in a Yahoo! Sports story last Friday, the same day the NFL Players Association decertified and the NFL owners subsequently locked out the players.
Peterson vented his anger about the owners refusing to open their financial books.
“It’s like . . . well, show us. We want more information, and they want to (expletive), going around, saying this and that, just open it up and give us the information we want,” Peterson told Yahoo! Sports shortly before the NFLPA’s decertification last Friday.
“. . . If they have nothing to hide, just give us the information. Why not? Obviously, there’s a lot to hide — these guys are professionals, and they’re maximizing what they do. But they know that if all this information comes out, the information the players want, it’ll be right out there for everyone to see. It’s a rip-off — not just for the players, but for the people who work at the concession stands and at the stadiums.”
But Peterson didn’t stop there. Many NFL players feel that they aren’t being treated as business partners, but Peterson chose a different term for the treatment.
“It’s modern-day slavery, you know?” Peterson said. “People kind of laugh at that, but there are people working at regular jobs who get treated the same way, too. With all the money . . . the owners are trying to get a different percentage, and bring in more money.”
Yahoo! writer Doug Farrar apparently removed Peterson’s comments for a time shortly after they were published. The quote already had spread across the Internet, however. Yahoo! included an editor's note Tuesday that said it was reaching out to Peterson for context to his comments.
“I don't think he meant it in the way it's going to come across, but the word itself is a problem,” Farrar said via his Twitter account.Keep on Civin'

What a ****ing moron... Just more proof that many sports stars have no clue about reality.
Actually, I wouldn't be too harsh on 'sports stars having no clue about reality'. They're all very young. AP is 25 like me. You'd probably say I have no clue about reality either"Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

People in Chicago, notably Coach Lovie, are pretty unhappy with the new kickoff rule - moving the tee up to the 35 yd line. Lovie rarely says anything critical of the league, but he knows that, against strong kickers, this will take away one of the Bears' few consistent advantages - Devin "You Are Ridiculous" Hester. Lovie's comments:
“I can't believe we're really talking about it — the most exciting play in football,” Smith told reporters in New Orleans at the annual owners meetings. “You would think we would want to keep that in. We would (want to) work to try to make it safer whatever way that is. But to eliminate (kickoff returns) to me is just kind of tearing up the fiber of the game a little bit.
“We have a great returner, but that's a big part of the game. Our fans are probably more interested in coming there to see Devin Hester run a ball back, as opposed to a kicker kick it out of the end zone with no action. We're totally against the rule.”
Smith disputes the contention of the NFL's Competition Committee that an inordinate amount of serious injuries occur on kickoff returns.
“You wonder how did we get to this point?” Smith said. “Yeah, I'm biased. But talking with our trainers, the last couple of years, we've had one ankle sprain (combined on kickoff returns and kickoff coverage).
"I know we are talking about player safety, but I don't know if that's making the game safer by eliminating it. You can say that about every pass play, every play where there is a little bit of contact."Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011
