It's not just "other people" who got on Cutler's case. It was Bears fans out in the street burning his jersey. I don't know how debilitating the injury was, so I'm not mouthing off.

I suffered the same injury Freshman year of highschool football and it still gives me problems to this day. I caught flak from *******s on the football team too for it "just being a knee" injury. Does every knee injury need to be

No slack for Schlereth. He's been a pretty solid commentator and has been the first to jump down people's throats for "throwing so-and-so under the bus." He has also been very big on the whole players-as-brothers-in-arms thing, complete with the sanctity of the locker room. Then he does this?

Look, Cutler may be kind of a jerk as a human being, but that's no reason to question his toughness. He runs regularly but seldom slides. He's been sacked more than anyone in football over the last 2 seasons and keeps coming back for more. He has missed exactly one game in his career, and that's only because of the NFL's new concussion rules.

Drunken Bears fans burning a jersey is just an example of a handful idiots on parade. The media reporting it as if it represents the general feeling of Bears Nation is a significant part of what fueled this entire misleading and irresponsible news cycle. Several NFL players, former players and sports writers criticized Jay Cutler on twitter after he left the NFC Championship game with a knee injury. Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew was one of those players, but backtracked his criticism on Monday and said his tweet was a joke.

Jones-Drew told the Associated Press that he never questioned Jay Cutler's toughness when the Bears quarterback left the NFC title game.

"I never attacked him, called him soft or a sore loser," Jones-Drew said. "I never questioned his toughness. I think people took my joke out of context. I was taking at shot at Florida fans."

After backup quarterback Todd Collins entered the game, Jones-Drew tweeted that he thinks "the urban meyer rule is effect right now... When the going gets tough........QUIT." He also posted that he played the whole season with a hurt knee.

Jones-Drew said that when he tweeted, he was unaware that anything was wrong with Cutler. It was reported on Monday that Cutler sprained his MCL.

"All I thought about was being in that position, being in that game," Jones-Drew said. "I've never been in a title game, so my first thought was why wouldn't you want to play in that situation."

ESPN ran a survey who is least like QB in NFL - Cutler, Roethlisberger or Vick and Cutler is leading the poll big time. Their current one is asking who believes following: Cutler told Bears he couldn't play or Bears told Cutler he couldn't play. Of course, except for Illinois and Vermont the vote goes to Cutler telling Bears he couldn't play. This is after Bears said in press conference yesterday it was a doctor's decision and Cutler went in for the first series of the second half anyway. And even the votes in those two states are pretty close. This is just ridiculous. Plus fans are calling Boers and Bernstein on the Score (who definitely aren't Cutler fans and talk about how bad he was in the first half) and getting mad at them for backing Cutler on this. Then there is the "he wasn't helping Hanie" talk which is also bogus. Cameras only can show so much but they definitely showed him talking to Hanie as Caleb was looking at pictures. So many idiots out there, it's just unbelievable. They just see what they want to see. I loved Angelo's comments about the state of the players union if players can dump on Cutler like this. And some of them backing off their statements, like MJD? Hilarious.

Detroit Lions LB Zack Follett put words to the frustrations of many of his team's fans on Tuesday when he described injury-prone QB Matthew Stafford as a "china doll."

Follett -- who suffered a neck injury that sent him to injured reserve in October -- described a general sense of frustration that Stafford has not been able to harness his abilities because injuries have held him back.

Drafted first overall in 2009, Stafford has played in just 13 games -- including three last season -- because of injuries.

"Stafford, good guy. He's a china doll right now," Follett told ESPN Radio in Fresno, Calif. (via the Detroit Free Press).

"Anytime he gets hit, he goes down. But the kid is -- hopefully, it's just patiently waiting for him, because the kid is an awesome talent. He has a tremendous arm. The throws that he makes during practice when no one can touch him, he looks like an All-American quarterback, but put him in a game, and you hit his shoulder. So hopefully, say a couple prayers, keep him healthy next year, and the Lions can do some damage in the NFC."

It's crazy to think Stafford has only played 13 games and Sanchez has played 37 including 6 playoff games!

I was an ardent Cutler mocker until Sunday. Seeing the treatment he's getting from the media, and especially from other NFL players, is appalling. I don't know if I've ever had an opinion turn-around about a player so quickly. Frankly, I find it obscene what's happening to him.

Then again, he's getting paid a boatload of money to play a game, so I guess I won't spend too much time being upset over it. I do believe he's tough, and therefore tough enough to ride this one out. But the people calling him a quitter can all go to hell, as far as I'm concerned.

And anyone who dislikes Cutler more then Ben Rapelisberger can join them. Seriously, get some ****ing perspective.

Cutler does have diabetes. I really wonder how you can question a guy's physical and especially mental toughness if he's playing professional football at the level he is while suffering from a serious disease.
