He only had 7 all last year.

    And I agree on Brees.

    Brady, BTW, has only 4.
Matt Cassel surprisingly only has 4, as well, a year removed from 16. Not only that, but like Brady, Cassel has also thrown 23 TD passes. Who would have thought that Cassel and Brady would have mirrored each other*

*not saying Cassel is good. The Chiefs' passing attack is a mirage. They have an absurdly easy schedule and they're averaging nearly 200 yards rushing/game. Cassel is just good enough that he can look like a star when things are going for him.

Also, note this is with Brady having one less game since he plays tonight. Still, surprising for Cassel.

    • I'm trying to figure out how the Top 7 QBs in interceptions is the "Top Bit".

      • It's what I posted. Umm yeah. The list includes at least 32 QB's so 7 is a top bit.

See what you're doing, Imran? What is the point of this? Where are you trying to go with this? You're wrong and even if you were right and I had said Favre ONLY is a shocker, you'd still be wrong because Favre playing this badly IS surprising. To go from 7 INT's all year last year to 17 so far this year is one hell of a transition. If he gets up to 25 or so, it might even be historic.

          • To Sloww and Jrabbit, for two.

Plus I hadn't even said Favre is surprising! I said the top BIT is surprising which includes Drew Brees, Peyton Manning, Carson Palmer, and Donovan McNabb.

            • Actually, I don't find it that surprising that Favre tops the list. He's older, Vikings have had receiver injuries, so maybe he feels he needs to take more risks. Last year, 7 INTs, was the anomaly, when the gunslinger was surpressed - he had 22 the year before that, 15, 18, 29 going further back.

              • I agree that Cassel has been a revelation, especially since the KC passing game basically sucked the first few weeks. Amazing what a great running game will do for your play-action game. Of course, the KC defense has helped a lot as well, as we saw yesterday. WTF happened to Orton? 9 for 27???

I expected Brady to really go downhill this year, with a suspect line, patchwork RB corps and then dumping Moss. But he has delivered consistently. Tonight's game vs. the Jets should be really fun.

The Lolcats have led at halftime in five games. Their record? 1-4.

It was nothing. I just remember when I was comparing Eli and Brady's 2009 campaigns and I could have sworn you said Brady would return to 2007-level greatness this year. Might not have been you though.

                        • Could have been. I was thinking in terms of him being healthy this year. He was #6 on my QB draft list this year, which was higher than Eli was. Clearly, I had them both underrated.

FWIW, I also resisted pointing the eerily near-identical stats between Stafford and the Sanchize in their rookie years.

In other news, another one bites the dust:

Josh McDaniels has been fired as head coach of the Denver Broncos, the team confirmed Monday.

Team spokesman Patrick Smyth told The Associated Press: "We can confirm that coach Josh McDaniels has been relieved of his head coaching duties."

McDaniels, who was also the main person involved in player personnel decisions, took the job as head coach in 2009. He got off to a 6-0 start but the team has lost 17 of the past 20 games since then. The Broncos are 3-9 this season after their 10-6 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs Sunday

                          • A little surprising. McDaniels is beyond fantastic at developing a QB and a passing offense though. He probably made the jump to head coach a little too soon (he is very young, after all).

Fun fact. McDaniels was a WR at John Carroll University from 1995-98. He was team-mates with London Fletcher. It's pretty crazy when you have head coaches younger than some players on their team (Mike Tomlin, Raheem Morris, etc.).

Is Singletary next (to get fired*)?

*better make that clear or Imran will come in here and ask "How is Singletary going to be younger than his players? Singletary is 52 years old!"

WTF? What exactly is wrong with pointing out that Favre throwing picks shouldn't be a surprise to anybody?

                              • IT WASN'T JUST FAVRE!!!! IT WAS PEYTON MANNING, DREW BREES, DONOVAN MCNABB, AND CARSON PALMER!!!!

                                THAT IS WHAT IS SURPRISING!!!!

I ****ING EXPLAINED BY COMPARING AND CONTRASTING THE QB'S WHO LED THE LEAGUE IN PICKS LAST YEAR WITH THIS YEAR'S BUNCH!!!!

Last year: 3 rookies (Sanchez, Freeman, Stafford), 2 young QB's on new teams (Cutler, Cassel), and 2 old good but not great QB's (Hasselbeck, Delhomme).
EXACTLY WHO YOU WOULD EXPECT TO LEAD THE LEAGUE IN INT'S!!!!

This year: 2 definite Hall of Famers (Manning, Favre), 1 veritable superstar and possible HoFer (Brees), 1 older QB who has been one of the best in the league for NOT throwing picks (McNabb), a 2-time Pro Bowler (Palmer), and Eli and Henne.
BLAH? Really? Those are some surprising QB's to be throwing a lot of picks. I DON'T GIVE A **** WHAT YOU SAY IT IS SURPRISING.

AND EVEN IF I HAD SAID FAVRE ALONE WAS THE ONLY SURPRISING ONE, IT STILL DOESN'T DESERVE A WHAT THE **** ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT FAVRE IS NOT SURPRISING?

                                WHY?!

Because Favre only threw 7 last year! Maybe Favre having a hiccup was expected but NO ONE expected it to be this big. If they did, they are ****ing lying.
