Like I said... stopping Vick but losing.
Vick had the roughest half he has had so far this season. He's playing okay so that's a testament to how great he has been in previous games but he's running for his life a bit more than usual and isn't exactly turning those times into an opportunity for much positive yardage. He's crossed the line of scrimmage 6 times for 24 yards which is pedestrian for Vick... and 6 runs in the first half is a lot for the new pass-first Vick. I have never seen a punter worse than the Giants Matt Dodge. Holy ****. This HAS to be the worst punter ever. The majority of his punts are line-drives or either go out of bounds after travelling 20 yards or shoot straight up into the air and only cover 20 yards, he screws up holds on field goals, he drops the ball when he receives the snap on a punt, etc. This guy is beyond terrible."Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

Childress gone......
The Minnesota Vikings have fired their head coach Brad Childress. A statement released by the team says he will be replaced by assistant Leslie Frazier.
It’s been a controversial and disappointing season for the Vikings who went to the NFC championship game last season. Childress had public disagreements with quarterback Brett Favre, and got in trouble with owner Ziggy Wilf when he didn’t tell him about his plans to release big-name wide receiver Randy Moss.
The last straw came yesterday when the Vikings were humiliated at home 31-3 by Favre’s old team and arch-rival Green Bay Packers. That dropped the Vikings record to 3-7 and virtually eliminated any chance of them making the playoffs this year.

Hakeem Nicks out for probably the next 3 weeks with compartment syndrome. So no Steve Smith. No Hakeem Nicks. Domenik Hixon obviously has been on IR all year. Victor Cruz is on IR. Ramses Barden on IR. Great.
Time for Eli to show those Manning genes off and make things happen with nothing.
The Giants have only 3 healthy receivers on the roster... Mario Manningham, rookie Duke Calhoun, and Derek Hagan who was just signed last week.
If the Giants continue to win games with these crew of receivers very reminiscent of what Peyton has in Indie (though at least Peyton has freaking Reggie Wayne!), then I expect Eli to get props from the haters. I mean down 5 freaking receivers! FIVE.

BTW, Al, I count Eli as "only" being down 4 receivers. Victor Cruz barely saw the field and scored zero fantasy points in the 3 games he was considered "active."
