Indeed, and the Giants played too much like they always do.

      • If Wade Phillips was still the coach, the Giants would have beat them 42-14...

        FIRE JASON GARRETT!

He was having the Cowboys players practice in full pads! They can't do that! They're well-paid athletes and part of the Cowboys tradition! How dare he make them work hard and hold them accountable!

        FIRE JASON GARRETT!

        • I worry... I liked that the Cowboys had a head coach who was allergic to playoff victories. Now, I don't know what will happen long-term.

And the combination of Miles Austin and Dez Bryant scares me next year.

          • What the hell? Wasn't the NE-PIT game's score 23-3 a few minutes ago? Where did all those points come from!?

            • I may have to change my MVP vote for Michael Vick. What a performance! 300+ yards passing, 4 TDs passing, 50+ yards rushing 2 TDs rushing.

And that was just the first quarter!

                • Mike Vick is the best QB in the NFL right now. Forget Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, and Philip Rivers. It's Mike Vick. Anyone take issue with that?

Mind you, he has only started and finished 4 games but he's at a QB rating of 115.1 with 1350 yards passing, 11 TDs ZERO Ints, 8.8 yards per pass attempt, has rushed for 341 yards (7.8 y/a) and 4 TDs. Vick is seriously playing perfect football.

I guess Kolb is going to Arizona or Buffalo next year. No way is Vick not staying the Eagles QB.

20/28 333 yards 4 TDs with 80 yards rushing and 2 more TDs is just an unreal performance in a game and he did most of that in the first quarter!

I still can't believe what Andy Reid did in 1 year that Dan Reeves and Jim Mora Jr couldn't do over several years

                  • The 'huge' McNabb contract after getting benched got a lot of hype but now, it doesn't look like such a big deal at all. Hell, not even a small deal and does nothing to change the possibility that McNabb may be moved after this year:

One of the contract's most significant points is a payment due this offseason, when the Redskins must decide whether or not to pay McNabb a $10 million option bonus. If they do, it would trigger the rest of the contract and make Washington liable for McNabb's $2.5 million base salary in 2011.

So in essence, the Redskins paid McNabb $3.75 million in 2010 for the right to pay him $12.5 million in 2011 and control his rights. If the Redskins cut him after this season or trade him, they are only on the hook for the $3.75 million.

                    • I wonder how much of the subtle lie that Andy Reid made Vick a passer is going to gain traction. Let's not realize that the talent on the Eagles offense is light years better than the Falcons when Vick was there, and that his maturation as a passer was going to continue and he always had that potential (look at his passer ratings at VTech).

                      • Imran you keep saying that but it's not true. The quality of the receivers in Atlanta had nothing to do with the fact that in the past, Vick never looked past his first read; if first read wasn't open he just bolted. The receivers have nothing to do with the fact that Vick actually scans the field now.

That's the fundamental change. Even if the Eagles didn't have good receivers and Vick's passing stats suffered a bit as a result, it doesn't change the fact that he would still be vastly improved by the simple fact that he makes reads now, something which he never used to do.

Also his accuracy and fundamentals are all vastly improved. I doubt receiver quality explains a 10 percentage point increase in his accuracy.

                        • The quality of the recievers/line does have a LOT of do with how successful Vick was. Does Vick go through his progressions more now? Yes, but that's a normal progression of a QB. But in Atlanta, the line would usually collapse early and outside of Algie Crumpler there wasn't much else (Brian Finneran?! LOL).

Also his accuracy and fundamentals are all vastly improved. I doubt receiver quality explains a 10 percentage point increase in his accuracy.
Ask Steve Young (see his completion percentage in Tampa).

Furthermore, McNabb's greatest season in terms of completion percentage and TD percentage (and it isn't really all that close) is the year Terrell Owens joined the Eagles. Recieving talent makes a good deal of difference.

                          • It also helps that he's seeing things from a drop back QB's perspective.

                            • Steve Young in Tampa? Well come on... let the man develop! Let him learn from Walsh! That was reason for Steve Young's improvement even moreso than Jerry Rice.

Again, Imran, receiving talent helps him put up his current gaudy stats but it doesn't change the fact that he's making reads now where in the past he didn't, he says himself that he's a pass-first QB now whereas he never was one before, he says himself that he used to be lazy and now Reid has inspired him to bust his ass. Vick says it himself. He says the prison experience humbled him and to be on the bench behind a guy like McNabb who he learned from and working with Andy Reid, he learned so much and the importance of being the first one in and the last one to leave. Do you want me to find the quotes? He never says "I didn't have receivers in Atlanta like I have here in Philly" or whatever nonsense you're saying is the reason for his improvement.

(oh and the Eagles O-line is not good by the way)
